Please come to our school system -I as a parent have asked for the nutritional information from our food services director and been told not available! Thats because they served Taco Boats, Super Nachos and Teriyaki Beef Nuggets for lunch - WTH is a veggie - oh right - its on the salad bar that a child can choose instead of the hot lunch.
No Wonder I end up packing their lunches somedays....most days....I wish there were a better option for all the kids. I can afford to send a decent healthy lunch with my kids , what about those on free/reduced fee lunches, don't the deserve healthy? Hope they finish their ketchup, its the veg of the day.

I could not get over the narrow-mindedness of some of those people in the VT. Keep up the good work, and lets save our children from an early grave...

Thank you Jamie for caring about America's children!!! We can change the direction of our children's health with this kind of education and exposure. I would love to share with you a difference I'm making by offering FREE Juice Plus+ (fruits and vegetables in a capsule or gummy) to kids whose parents began adding Juice Plus+ to thier daily diet. Through this program we are seeing incredible results and the scientific research behind this source of Whole Food Nutrition is solid! Check it out at www.healthy-jp.com!

I love you because of your mission. The public are so misinformed about the food they eat. Poor people are hit the hardest because on top of the bad information healthy food is not always affordable. Food has a direct effect on health and America is not healthy. I hope your show can enlighten and encourage people to take an active roll in what they eat.

What you are doing is probably the most important kind of activism today besides environmentalism. We live in a very sick society that is killing itself with food. Indeed, education and example are the answer.. and people have to want to be healthy! My mom and Dad are both very overweight and it breaks my heart every time I visit them to see what they put in their bodies. My words don't seem to effect change.. I'm hoping your show will! Kudos to you Jamie for taking this on!!

I just watched Jamie's trailer for the food revolution and I was shocked at people's reaction to him. God bless you Jaime for coming to our country and helping save lives against those who want to fight against you and the negativity. what you are doing is one of the most selfless inspirations I have ever seen in a very long time. Pizza for breakfast at a school is the most sick thing I have ever seen. I am a self taught chef, I have changed my diet from junk food (raised on junk) to fresh , wholesome fish, veggies, fruits, lean proteins and good carbs. America can do this and I stand behind you Jamie 1 billion %. God Bless you, you are amazing! through tears you inspired me.

Jamie,
I'm really excited about your show, because hopefully it will be a wakeup call for everyone. My son is 4 and he comes with me into the kitchen to make dinner. I try to teach him the things that I know about food and cooking. He's still rather eat french fries but I think over time it will make a difference and what you're doing is a reminder for me of why its so important to take the time to make a meal, to show him what I'm doing rather than just ordering out which is much easier when I get home from work at 7 pm.
Thank you for hard work and I believe that this movement will grow and change the way that we think about food in the country.

I want to start a food and health revolution too, here in Canada! How about partnering with us to see it happen here! We need more people like you, individuals who inspire us to make real change, to educate and support healthy food now and well into the future! We are hosting a school garden workshop tomorrow, wish you could be there! Hope to connect with someone in your organization to see how we can partner to bring about a FOOD revolution here today!

Hi Jamie!
I´m a tweenty five year woman from spain and I´ve been following you since you started appearing here in tv. I really love what you do because you make things easy and as I see you at a cooking channel you are a fresh breath beneath all those complicates recipes that people never try.
My mum and I see you here everyday at five o´clok and we both love the way you cook and all those vintage bowls and dishes you have.
Keep doing things as you do, I think everything will be ok if you keep doing what you feel you have to do. It is awesome how healthy cooking changes the life of people, and I know what I´m talking about because I´m a doctor and all I have to do is to congratulate you!
I hope people take care of what they are doing and you are a good model. People should be as enthusiastic in their jobs as you are with cooking.
Great cooker, great guy, and great family! all my best whises to Jools, Daisy. Poppy, Petal and the new member who is comming!

I admire what you are doing and think that you are going to be a godsend to these children. It takes a man like you to break a viscious cycle that would otherwise continue to snowball into an even worse situation. Godspeed my friend.

Bravo, Jamie! I watched your TED talk, and I'm excited for your show. I grew up in a family where my mom cooked every night, and my dad always grew a garden every spring. I have two boys, and it is a struggle to get them to eat healthy when all they see around them is junk. But fortunately, they love fresh fruit (even if they also love pizza), and we have a wonderful local farmers market. Our public schools started a Crunch Lunch program a few years ago, where the schools partnered with local farms to bring in fresh produce every day, and the difference is remarkable. I hope that every family around the country can have the same experience, where they feel good about the meal choices their kids get at school. Keep up the good work!

Dear Jamie,
Can't wait until for your show on the 26th of March. You preach it!!! I use to feed my kids so healthy but as our family grew, 7 kids, and the outside temptations came, I gave in. I still try to not have junk food in the home but just going outside the home we are bombarded. Everywhere sugary treats are handed to them. People just don't care and are uninformed of what they are doing to their bodies. I am hoping to be re-inspired by your show and start my kids back to healthier eating. I would love to have you come to my home and help us! But if you are too busy I will just have to watch your show, lol.

hope it goes well in america will it be on british tv?
22. Vibeke Mon 22 Feb 2010 @ 14:35
OMG, that dumpster full of fat was disgusting! What a wake up call to those poor parents. As a vegetarian and a whole foods advocate, I am so glad to not be in that position. My children can name even exotic fruits and vegetables, but I know that even in my home we can make improvements, not so much in diet, but in getting family exercise time.
23. Melodie Mon 22 Feb 2010 @ 05:03
Hi Jamie,
Thank you so much for coming to America! We definitely need your help. I think your approach is so much better than others'... like in Super Size Me, etc, they're just saying "don't eat fast food," without giving people the tools to avoid it! I admire that you have a plan to teach everyone to cook. I hope it works as well here as it did in the UK. I was lucky to grow up in a home with a mum who made every meal I ate, so I have never had a problem with my weight. They did pizza for breakfast at my elementary school and my mum was always very upset by it. I remember being jealous of those kids after I had my boring oatmeal or eggs, but I'm thankful now!
Congratulations winning the TED prize! You 110% deserved it!!

Can't wait to see this show. We are pumped! My wife and I are running a parallel campaign. We are coming from the 'grow your own' soapbox. But it really boils down to education, and early. This year we decided to take all of the information and compact it into a childrens book and make our organic seed starting kits available as a full classroom curriculum, preK-3. This is where change happens. If they grow it, they WILL eat it. We've seen it happen with kids that wouldn't touch vegetables otherwise. Our hats are off to you, we love you, we love what you are doing, and we thank the heavens that you are bringing this out there. It is an epidemic. There would be congressional hearings like we saw against Big Tobacco right now against Big Food if our own government wasn't so complicit in this tragedy. Be the change, Jamie. All of us Yanks need you!

Hi Jamie,
Like Ms. Kennedy, my family and I were living in the UK when you launched your Feed Me Better Campaign, and we left just as you received your first round of government funding. Would love to hear more details on what has improved in the 5 years since schools started to make changes.
Can't wait to see your show on ABC next month. We would love to have you jump start something in the Chicago area anytime!
28. Karen Kennedy Wed 17 Feb 2010 @ 16:43
Hey Jamie. Man, I'll hand it to you for starting in the south. Should make for good telly, but I hope you were able to make some lasting changes there. I lived in the UK when you did your channel 4 documentary work (my husband and brother in law went to school w/ you at Newport Free Grammer). You really jump-started the dialogue on childrens' nutrition. If you fancy a west coast holiday, I and a few other parents are slowly making improvements w/ our small districts lunches in La Center, WA (near Portland, OR). My goal is a return to scratch cooking. Boy would a celebrity cooking event bring a lot of attention to it! Think about it.
29. lori Wed 17 Feb 2010 @ 02:14
I would like some healthy suggestions for my boy's lunch box.
30. Marie Wed 17 Feb 2010 @ 02:03
Jamie,
I applaud your enthusiasm and tenacity as that is what it is going to take to get people's attention. That, and a prime time tv show to get into their homes! I opened up 8000 sq ft of my private property for the use of community garden, which very few have yet taken advantage of, and recently started a small organic market farm via CSA (community supported agriculture), which is growing and in its 2nd year. The urban farm here near the city and right in the middle of a small semi-rural community will help make healthy food accesible, and cooking, canning and growing classes available to my community, my neighbors. I called the place Eden's because it was the first organic garden - where the most nutritious food comes from; living, sustainable soil, clean and fresh, in season and pure. We CAN teach people to feed themselves correctly again. But it is going to take a lot of work.
Doing what I can...

Bravo Jamie!
Can't wait for this show to start. As a Holistic Health Counselor and Nutritionist, you're literally making my job easier.
Thanks!

Hi Jamie,
I'm currently a junior in high school and I just want you to know I fully support your work. As a student having to eat lunch at school 5 times a week I grew tired of all the junk they were selling. I try to find something healthy to eat at the school cafeteria everyday but it's really hard. The salad bar is the only thing that's remotely healthy and it's not even a full fledged salad bar. Whenever I eat try to eat healthy at school my friends might look at me funny and ask if I'm on diet, like good food is supposed to be eaten under special circumstances. It's a good thing my mom still cooks traditional korean food for me whenever I'm at home but even she is starting crack under the conveniences of the Western diet. I plan to enjoy watching your show. And even though I don't plan on becoming a cook I might start to learn how to because it really is such an essential tool. Keep doing what you're doing and I'll help spread the word around. God bless
33. Julie Leithner Mon 15 Feb 2010 @ 16:01
I'm so glad you're doing this show! I can't wait to watch it. I wish you all the success out there because THIS is what is needed, a real voice, hope, education...for a brighter future! I get frustrated by the people around me who can't understand my own efforts to eat healthy let alone a whole city or nation. Ignorance needs to be fought with education! I personally have learned a lot since joining SparkPeople.com. It's a wonderful resource for health, nutrition, and fitness all around. It's great for people who want to take control of their lives especially if they can't have someone around like you to help them. I posted a blog to gain awareness of your show on Sparkpeople and other people have reposted the links to help spread the word. It's a great think you're doing! Thank you for doing this.

As a nutritional medicine specialist, I applaud your efforts Jamie. Here in Nova Scotia, Canada, a law was passed legislating healthy food in schools. However, I was disgusted when my we received a phone call during the first week of school for my son in who is 7 , saying that my son had requested a snack (at his old school in the countryside that meant a free apple from the teacher), and he was given a chocolate bar and we were being advised to send the money to pay for it the next day! We grow our own food, have our own chickens, eat only pastured meat etc., and here was the school feeding my child junk without my permission! Shame on them and shame on any school who pollutes the bodies of our children in the name of profit and convenience.
35. Tracy Mon 01 Feb 2010 @ 17:03
Dear Jamie-
My children's elementary school is currently forming a "Health Initiative" group to work on ways of making our school lunches healthier (EX: working with local famers to bring in fresh, seasonal produce, healthy snack cooking classes for the kids).
This past fall, our Parent Teacher Organization donated healthy snacks during WKCE test time. We got postitive feedback from both students and parents. I would never guess that kids would jump at eating a hard boiled egg!
I was so excited to see the commericals for your new show coming in March (I wish it was starting in February)! I am sure you will inspire us and give us great ideas to help our mission come to life.
I would love to see my kids (along with myself) eating more fresh produce in the near future. I just wish I was a better cook-HA!
Good luck with your revolution!!! You are awesome!
Kindest Regards,
Tracy S.

I LOVE it! I'm not shocked a bit at the resistance you met, we've become addicted to the garbage that we're eating. It is a disgrace what the children are fed in the public school systems.
I've been a fan for 8 years Jamie, and you've revolutionized the way I cook and feed my family!
Thank you!
