1. Mina Thu 12 Nov 2009 @ 11:40 Thx Jamie, it's a great recipe. We are non-vegetarian Hindus, so we dont eat beef. I just substituted beef mince with lamb mince and it tasted great :)
2. Amy Sun 30 Aug 2009 @ 23:32 I couldn't find Jacob's Cream crackers in my supermarket, so I used Carr's whole wheat crackers, and it still worked much better than my usual bread crumb method. I liked how the meatballs held together and didn't fall apart for me. Next time I might use fennel seeds instead of rosemary.
3. chloe g Wed 26 Aug 2009 @ 13:02 we watched this in home economics last year. it is a really nice dish.
my mum is letting me cook tonite and im cooking this. she dosn't know yet. she is going to love it. thanks jamie your class
4. An2timun Tue 14 Jul 2009 @ 06:21 Hi Jamie...I have watch this video a dozen times now and notice that the intro of the onion had gone missing somewhere in the middle...or did I missed it?...anyway this dish is really awesome..fairly easy for me being an amatuer...
5. Alex G Sun 12 Jul 2009 @ 21:48 Little balls...lol.

Things like the crackers as substitues for breadcrumbs are fantastic ideas! never going to forget that tip.
6. DMom Mon 08 Jun 2009 @ 16:25 I love that someone is finally taking the time to teach people who have NO cooking skills whatsoever. In my family we passed recipe's down and there are a few from my dad and my grandma that I know off by heart...somehow my cousin missed the "lessons" and she eats out for every meal. She's working on the second mortgage on her house because she doesn't earn enough to eat out all the time and she has diabetes, high cholesterol, and now has to watch her salt. She's only 34. If you told her to make spaghetti she wouldn't even know how to make the noodles.

Congratulations Jamie, for having the courage to tackle such a big problem. Instead of the destructive cycle eating out is you're offering a new cycle...eat at home, feel heathier, learn something new, increase your confidence, have more money, less stress, more "quality time" with your family. There's no bad side to what you're doing, please keep doing it.

Oh and I've passed on some of these recipe's to my cousin as well as your website for more inspiration. Your video's are great, easy to follow for the people who are new to the kitchen, there's not too many ingredients to put off a beginner, it's just great.
Good luck to you and your family!!!!
7. lululu Sun 03 May 2009 @ 20:33 this is great! even my teenage son is taking an interest into it - thats amazing!
my tip is when you are making your 'balls'! push some cheese into the middle and cover it up in mince
but these meatballs are amazing!!!
try it with taglitallie
8. Pete Fri 17 Apr 2009 @ 16:22 My wife has spent the last 20 years of marriage taking the mick out of my cooking ability, needless to say I haven't bothered very much or taken an interest. But now I've tied a few of the recipes in the book she is amazed and is even inviting her mates around when I cook. My 19year old son is also inviting his girlfriend around...what have you done??

Great book and useful videos, my 15 year old son is even starting to take an interest!
9. Mostafa Sun 12 Apr 2009 @ 13:18 It's a pity but I see that Jamie is loosing concentration. His description is not as involving as it used to be, in his earlier series he used to be so excited about making the meal, making every step of it interesting. Now it feels he is just tired, and getting it done for the sake of it. Also, many videos are with the same outfit in the same setting it shows too much how he crammed all of the shooting into one day to get it over with. If Jamie doesn't want to cook for an audience anymore maybe he can just stop!
10. neelesh Tue 03 Mar 2009 @ 04:32 Hi CHEF I am apt-cook in Mauritius hotel school and I rarely appreciate your programs . i would like to join your school because i would be a pro in kitchen.for me u are my reference plz give me a chance chef JAMIE. thank you chef
11. Alida Erasmus Thu 26 Feb 2009 @ 15:39 My daughter gave me this recipe (spaghetti meatballs) when I visited her in London. My fisrt experience with fresh herbs.
I love it!
Came home and cooked it here (South Africa), got the recipe on line. I'll be watching your website for more.
We mostly cook ourselves here.
Thanks for the good work, go for it.
12. Colette Mon 09 Feb 2009 @ 11:40 The book is fantastic. Previously having no real interest in cooking, I now really enjoy spending my weekends preparing food for my family and friends. I have cooked the mince pie, lasagne, Rogan Josh and the roast chicken with the vegetable trivot for the gravy. The lasagne and curry I have done twice both even better the 2nd time around. Today will be the meatballs - so fingers crossed these too will be well received.

Thank you Jamie x

24. sophie Wed 15 Oct 2008 @ 13:11 i think its a great idea to use crackers much better than bread and its easier to crush.
25. Puuka Sue Wed 15 Oct 2008 @ 09:50 Hi ,,, great to see that someone is trying to make a difference. Should'nt the goverment take some blame and ban sales of fatty non practical stoge foods and make it compulsory to eat healthy. Come on get behind jamie and approch your local community centre to pass it on and make that difference.
26. joshua elwell 7 & half years old Tue 14 Oct 2008 @ 18:32 it went well, we will make it again. thank you for

27. Paul Atkinson Sun 12 Oct 2008 @ 16:32 love the latest show, cant believe people live on takeaways, we are on a budget and we eat healthy
keep up the good work my mam loves you .

28. kate Sat 11 Oct 2008 @ 21:08 Dear Jamie, I watched your show last week and was so inspired I went out and bought your book. I already like cooking but you reminded me how much fun it is to cook WITH other people and how much you can learn from each other in the process. Last night my sister and I made the meatball recipe and loved it. We served it up like you showed in the video. The green basil and the red tomatoes look so beautiful together that we were so corny as to take a photo :) Thank you!(ps I also hope you come to Australia)
29. Caralina Sat 11 Oct 2008 @ 16:23 I Jamie, I`m from Spain, I love your way to cook, its so simple, and you look such a good person, I became a big fan of you when at first time I saw you traying to change the food of childrens in the schools.(that was a big challenge)..My best wishes for you. Thanks
30. christine Sat 11 Oct 2008 @ 06:27 I enjoy watching all cooking shows, I tell myself that I will make the recipes, but rarely do. Your spaghetti & meatballs recipe seems so simple I am trying it tonight. You have inspired me to actually do it. I admire your passion for what you do and wish you success in your latest venture Ministry of Food. Can't wait for next weeks show.
31. debbie h Fri 10 Oct 2008 @ 15:02 HI JAMIE,
Your programme is great, love the recipes but i have to say my hubby and i love to cook anyway. My hubby Dave is a great cook and cooks more than me. Its really good to see that someone really cares about the state of the nation. There are alot of people in this country that dont care about themselves anymore and even more that dont care about their kids. Thanks again and keep up the good work, dont let anyone put you off. X

36. ping ping Thu 09 Oct 2008 @ 09:34 Hey jammie!!
my mom love u so much. because of u, she like to cook delicious food for all the family. But in Indonesia, it's very hard to find imported herb. Can u give me any soution? Thank's before..
37. pecurb Thu 09 Oct 2008 @ 08:28 @ Lisa - You're right about the onion, it is not included in the video other than on the bench. In the TV show, Jamie explains to cook the onion first, let it cool and then add it to the mincemeat prior to mixing and rolling the balls.

Delicious!
38. Lisa Thu 09 Oct 2008 @ 04:05 Did anyone else notice in the video above, that Jamie lists as part of the ingredient list an onion (and there is an onion on the bench). However, at no time during the video does he say or show where the onion is used in the recipe. And then by the end of the video, there is no onion on the bench ;-)
39. lindsay Wed 08 Oct 2008 @ 23:43 I hated cooking, hated everything about it. Just ate takeaways and rubbish. You have inspired me with your passion about food and too better Britain's eating habbits. I think it is a shame the old ways have died. I now adore cooking, re organised my kitchen. Instead of somewhere for the dog to sleep, it is now somewhere i better my health and enjoy a challenge. THANKYOU JAMIE. keep up the good work. never give up. You are the people's hero. They just don't know it, yet. x
40. helgahello Wed 08 Oct 2008 @ 23:28 I think the programme is great and since if jamie's books can inspire my partner to cook then he can teach any1 to cook and after 7/12 years of cooking to be cooked one of jamies meals at the end of a busy day is so nice best xmas pressie i bought

43. Vincent Wed 08 Oct 2008 @ 12:50 Jamie,

What can i say man:-) I just love watching you cook and am always trying out your recipes:-)

Thanks for the ongoing inspiration mate.
Vince
44. Kirsty Wed 08 Oct 2008 @ 12:05 Just wanted to say I think what you are doing is brilliant. My children have always had a wide variety of home cooked food and nothing would frustrate me more than when they had friends round who would only eat things like chicken nuggets and chips because thats all they had been cooked at home. The more of us that know how to cook the better and the more of us that teach others, including future generations can only be good for our future.
45. Janelle Wed 08 Oct 2008 @ 10:44 Jamie, you're truly inspiring and we take out hats off to you. Your persistence is admirable to say the least. We just watched your show and are very keen to try your spaghetti and meatballs and pass it on. We try to cook as much as possible, but as with most people, time prevents that more than we'd like, so you help make it easier by telling us what to do without having to be a pro. Thanks heaps.
46. hayley Tue 07 Oct 2008 @ 23:02 I have been wanting to try the spaghetti meatballs for my daughter she`s 3 and loves her food i`m a single mum on benefits (through no choice of my own) and i love how delicious this recipe looks and how cheap it is to make ..and how much more appealing it looks to my 3 year old to eat than normal boring spaghetti!!!.. cant wait to get cooking :) thanks jamie
47. ddg1 Tue 07 Oct 2008 @ 22:37 Jamie, I think what you are doing with the ministry of food is fantastic!!! I will cook tomorrow and pass it on........for sure
48. lesley Tue 07 Oct 2008 @ 12:47 How great are your shows !!!!!!! you inspire so many people..I used to be the only one cooking and since buying your books and watching the shows [including the naked chef] my husband now wants to take over at the weekends...Its certainly made me aware of flavours and I experiment loads.. I love the passion you have and the way you pass things on so clearly..you sure tell it as it is.. the latest tv programme is wonderful...
49. chrissybhoy Mon 06 Oct 2008 @ 22:10 Great to see someone making an effort to educate and inspire the millions in this country (like me) who would love to cook decent, healthy food for themselves and their families but are either too lazy or lack the confidence to have a go.
Nice one Jamie. Your enthusiasm and attitude is admirable.
50. Saucy Sue Mon 06 Oct 2008 @ 18:22 Jamie, i think it's great what you're doing. I'll try this out tomorrow and will pass it on. Love the attitude
51. Kleber Mon 06 Oct 2008 @ 17:42 Bravo, I 'll try this one, I use the same process in the meatballs except the cream cracker. Nice Jamie.
Cya.
52. lyn hyde Mon 06 Oct 2008 @ 16:35 hello jamie just brought your book ,really enjoyed Amy hubby wants to cook your book has inspired him. All the best with the book. ps iv passed it on.
53. krishan jain Sun 05 Oct 2008 @ 09:32 Dear Jamie,
Your accent and the promptnes you employ in the preparation of the dishes is just too good. Pukka tukka was my favourite at one point in time and now its jamie goes italian. Keep up the good work. Bravo.
54. troeli Thu 02 Oct 2008 @ 22:49 My favourit recipe is sausage carbonara. In Germany we have so different sorts of sausage and I use for my cooking ,, Bauernbratwurst".You would perhabs call it,,farmers sausage" it tasts really wonderful. Please, excuse me for my horrible english.I am 50 years old,the last time i were in great britain it was 1973 in Watford not far from London
By the way, you know,we always prefer ,,Sauerkraut" and sausage. Please try to cook it with me.
55. whitedog Thu 02 Oct 2008 @ 14:40 Can see you're reaching out to those who don't do much cooking with herbs and easy tips for deliciousness. That kitchen set was nice and basic, your ordinary white kitchen, very compassionate, it must seem strange for many to watch the cooking shows and return to their plain little kitchens and feel in any way compitent, capable or interesting, deserving of fine eating...

I would have to substitute soy for beef now, spelt spagetti and crackers, nothing too drastic. No onions, thought onions were emblematic for spagetti sauce, obviously not.
