8. Anne-Maria (Bee) Salmon Sat 12 Jul 2008 @ 07:32 I agree with you that childen making and topping their own pizzas is a great way for them to try things that they would not normally eat.
We made french bread pizzas as part of a vegetable awareness week at the school that I help in, many of the children realy supprised themselves with what vegetables they found were tasty and they librally topped their pizzas then ate them !
I have to admit that we did use tomato ketchup as the sauce under the cheese and veg ..we did this as it was familliar to all children and as cooking facilities at the school are minimal ...e.g. a Baby Belling cooker..we made it simple so that all could enjoy creating something tasty to eat !
In the whole school there was only 1 child who refused to make a pizza or try any vegetables (she insisted on eatind plain bread..no problem..may be next time ! )
