2. Angel4u Tue 12 Jan 2010 @ 00:59 Hi there All, Please note,BUT!
I just made some strawberry Jam,Yummy! with the 1 cup fruit 3/4 cup sugar formula (no pictin as I hate the taste it gives. Then a squeeze of lemon, cause I thought it would help preserve it and add flavour lol. I did think of vanilla, but I wanted a more fresh taste. Then I wanted to know what others do, so I look one up and this one came up on the net.
I was surprised, as I just made my recipe up, based on science and heres a chef- well known i mite add, doing the same thing!
hhahhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
He's a funny guy old Jamie. I have to be honest though, the guy just dont do it for me in the looks and that department. He reminds me of a granny in the kitchen. I mean how does that turn you on gurls? Not only that but he;s so messy and all over the place.
Yes I like his professional ideas and techniques,of course he is a professional!
But I prefer to watch people like Rick Stein. I feel like he's singing my song whenever he discusses food. My goodeness, if I were 30 years older, I so would love to be Mrs Stein lol.
But thank you for the show. I just needed a second opinion on how another makes his jam.
3. margaret (from annan) Thu 27 Aug 2009 @ 22:08 hi jamie, love your jamie at home show. wanted to make stawberry jams for years, your way is fantastic.just started growing my own fruit and veg cause of you.big big thank you.your GREAT
4. marcie2 Sun 09 Aug 2009 @ 17:10 Hi Jamie
I loved your method of making jam. I also like to mash my berries, but I put them through the blender and people I mention that too think I'm weird. I love making quick jam with half strawberries and rhubarb especally when both are in season. When blended, the jam cooks more quickly.
I will have to visit this site more oftern to look at your cooking videos.

5. Adriano Thu 25 Jun 2009 @ 14:37 Well i think tha this recipe is very sweet and i like.
I think tha i would eat whit ice cream flavor vanilla and the strawberrys y
eat to spoonful.
Other idea is tha you can freazing the mix and use like a frezze cube in you cocktail.
I recomend that mix with vodka. :S
6. Janet Faulkner Tue 17 Feb 2009 @ 00:29 HEY, Jamie
Happy days!
I'm a Canadian and I love to cook as well. Spent 10 years in restraunts as a chef myself. I loved that:
" Yeah... lets do 1000 things at once and make each plate come out perfectly " (mind set) .
People are always so happy after a great meal! Needed a new challenge so I changed my career. I now work with children and adults with disabilities . Helping them overcome learing disabilities as well as physical challenges ,, life skills etc You have to be creative and every single person is totally unique . No two are ever alike. First, I find out what they like I take it from there. I have to tell you that . ...Most of them LOVE cooking but many have been forced to buy prepared food because it's easier , for either their staff or their parents.
In Group homes they eat absolute CRAP! Beleiv it !
I get them mixing, flipping ,smashing, mashing grating, chopping, peeling and rolling out dough etc they love it . We have an absolute riot! I truly believe anyone can do it .(cook) It is a great experience for anyone!
I have the exact same attitude as Jamie ,in that it's gotta be REAL fOOD and it's gotta be fun.! Recently I stumbled upon and then proceeded to watch ALL your online videos . Now I bring my laptop into my kitchen and it's so great !
That's why I am writing this!
Everybody is loving it!
Even my daughter came in and said:
" Oh my god ..I love that guy!" We giggled.
Jamie is not only a looker he acually knows a
hell of a lot. I am truly Jamiefied now too!
I don't even watch T.V.! I don't think I ever did .
What Jamie has to say is really important in this
"Fast Food Microwave Age "and I just love him for saying it .. Kids do follow and learn from by the example we adults provide. Lets do it right!
So,throw away packaged meals and get your kids cooking and making their own lunches! There is a mess when it's been fun but that's life isn't it? It's the memories that count .Cooking fills your home with glorious smells and flavours of real food. That is just another way of sharing good vibes with our families and friends AKA Love .
He's advocating" Proper Food " and showing us how it's done.
You name it We can do it .
"Tuck in guys"

12. Liz Nokomis, FL Sun 18 May 2008 @ 16:03 Jamie, you rock. I have always loved you and your show, but I have to tell you the new Jamie At Home has me mesmerized. It is so fabulous. I started my own garden and was stunned to realize how much food I can grow and the number of children I could feed. Your work with the lunch program was so inspirational for me that I have started feeding young school children that are compromised in my own community. I cannot put into proper words your effect on my life and the hope you give me that we can grow and eat and love better than we do. The garden is the start and your kitchen is the canvas. Thank you. I am so excited to begin...
Love,
Liz
P.S. I am crazy about your outdoor cooking stove, the Congress one. And also the brick wood oven. How and where did you get those things? I am searching eBay now!
