After much anticipation one of the world's best-loved and respected chefs and personalities visited Australia during the first week in March 2012.  
 
This was Jamie Oliver's first Australian visit since 2010 in which he visited three states while focusing on his Australian entities including Jamie's Ministry of Food Australia and the newly opened Jamie's Italian restaurant in Sydney. The tour which went for five days commenced on in Brisbane on the 3rd March

While in Sydney, Jamie spent time at his first Sydney restaurant, Jamie's Italian. Since opening its doors in October, the restaurant has delighted hungry diners with Jamie's successful blend of delicious Italian food, great service and good value, with an exciting menu that showcases some of Australia's highest quality, well-sourced and organic ingredients.

"I am Italian and am currently living in Australia, I honestly feel that the food we serve at Jamies Italian is a true reflection of exactly what is served in Italy. Jamie makes me proud to be a part of it", Alessandro, waiter, Jamies Italian.                

 Jamie made a private visit to the Sydney restaurant to meet personally with the staff, "It was  fantastic to meet the man who wrote the first cookbook I ever owned" said Jamies Italian chef Scott.

"He was exactly like you see him on TV, his passion really rubbed off on the staff" Andrew, Jamies Italian waiter.  

Jamie Oliver is deeply involved in the menu, both food & wine, that is served at Jamie's Italian. The music played is also a reflection of his own tastes and is compiled by a close friend in the UK.

Jamies' visit was a great inspiration to our team here in Sydney and we look forward to more visits in the future…
