Take the Pledge
As well as encouraging you to try some cheaper cuts of British pork I want to get the supermarkets acting more responsibly. I want them to label their meat clearly so that the welfare standards and the country where the meat has been farmed is obvious (not hidden on the back in a tiny box). At the moment most of this information is voluntary, but I think it should be a legal requirement. If you agree please click below and help Save Our Bacon!
I want
Retailers to state clearly on the front of all products, where and how their meat is farmed. See labels page
I will
Buy British pork.
Look for these logos when you’re out buying your packs of meat. If British pork is not available where you shop then ask why not!
Try cheaper cuts of meat like belly, shoulder and neck fillet steak.
If you've never cooked these cuts before don't worry, because I've written some delicious recipes to get you started. You can get hold of them as a reward for taking this pledge! See recipes page
Demand clear labelling
Join the campaign to make clear labelling a legal requirement on all pork and pork product packaging. See welfare page
