Well first I'll let ya know i'm 43 next month male and live in East London. I first started to cook at 15 years old I made a minced beef and onion pie having asked my mum how to make pastry , roll it etc. It was yummy and from that moment on i read cookery books and just had a go at anything i fancied. When i didn't have all the right ingredients i would where possible substitute and that kind of taught me some of what goes well and a lot of what doesn't. I have always spoken to older people regarding recipes at times when i've had the opportunity to taste some thing nice.
I got a nice ragu from an Italian lady of 81 about 22 years ago. I have some great curry recipes from my southern asia friends. I ask people to teach me if they have a great recipe and i've been lucky to travel a little. I lived in Spain for 5 years in a small village.
I really love good food and although i'm not trained i can knock up a few tasty morsals.
One of my areas of experience is in baking cakes, making pastry. I love deserts and have tried everything from creme brulee to peanutbutter cheesecake and bread and butter pudding to christmas pudding.
MINISTRY OF FOOD
Great Idea. Not easy. I offered to teach someone and they said. No,
all my friends already cook how can i find some one who really would like to learn something?
Thats it for now Good luck
