Best homemade baby food to be fed out of your kitchen?
Mine is taken from Jamie's butternut squash recipe in 'Cook with Jamie'. It's an entire (organic)squash with the skin left on, boiled for a few hours till tender. Then when it's cooled a bit, I cut it in chunks as 'finger food' for my 1 year old son and he just loves eating it. It gives me food for days. I have omitted all the yummy toppings that Jamie finishes his recipe with, but in the future I will be adding some more flavor to add interest to this ultra healthy baby food.
Note: I do not salt the water when cooking the squash. I figure babies will have their fair share of salt by the time they hit the chips.
Happy cooking for your babies.
