From: Ottawa, Canadaabout me
I'm 14 and I love to cook! I'm from Canada and I like to ski, mountain bike, read, cook and listen to The Beatles. I would have to say my favorite food is a good old steak with some sort of a blue cheese salad. Or crepes. Or penne al' arrabiata. Or cod stew, or chips and gravy, or coca-cola, or fajitas or... yah theres too much to name. :P Cheers, ChaseOh jeez, I feel terrible.
Here we go again...
I never kept this cursed blog up since the last time I promised to do just that. Every time I visit this lovely site, I see the blog link and feel guilty that my blog is just wasted space on the site servers. I decided that I am gonna keep this up or get off this site, and since I love this site... Im going to keep this blog up! *cough cough*
Mothers Day (At least in Canada)
Well tomorrow is Mothers Day in Canada (I dunno about the rest of the world) and I'm cooking my Mom a nice light lunch. I am making a mint, pea and prosciutto soup and some light lamb chops. I'll post the soup recipe down below for you guys. I'm trying to make this blog a (at least) weekly thing so I can get involved in the site a bit more!
Pea and mint soup with prosciutto
(Serves 4)
Ingredients...
2 tbsp olive oil plus extra to drizzle
4 slices prosciutto
Sea salt and black pepper
Large handful of mint (leaves only)
500g peas (frozen of fresh)
3/4 cup creme fraiche (generous amount)
Heat olive oil in a skillet. Cook prosciutto over high heat till golden brown and crisp ... turning once. Drain oil and place on paper toil. Add the mint leaves to a medium pan of salted boiling water. After a little while add the peas and blanch for 2-3 min. Drain, reserve liquor (cooking liquid). Tip peas and mint into blender. Add just enough of the hot liquor to cover and blend until smooth and pureed. Add a generous drizzle of olive oil and all but 4 tbsp of the creme fraiche. Season with salt and pepper to taste and pulse for a few seconds to combine. Pour the soup into warm bowls and dollop the reserved creme fraiche on top then scatter over the cripsy prosciutto and serve.

A fresh start
Ok I know I haven't blogged much at all and haven't for a while but I have been on the site a whole bunch in the forums etc and now that the blogs are on the main site I have NO excuse not to blog. Well whats new in chacha land... I have started a herb garden in my yard with rosemary, thyme, mint and parsley. I have been cooking a lot and have gained loads of experience. I just recently made a mushroom and truffle risotto (just about two hours ago). I plan to blog a lot more now that the blogs are a part of the main site and I just want to say to all the staff on this fine site...
THANKS FOR THE GREAT UPDATE!![]()
Cheers,
Chase

My first blog entry
Hey everyone! This is my first post and I just wanted to say a little bit of what I plan to do on this blog. I hope to post alot of pictures of Christmas in my neighbourhood and house and give recipes from all bunch of christmas feasts. Now a Little about me. I Love to cook and am Canadian born and raised. My favorite food would have to be Newfoundland food but since thats not really a classification of food... I will have to say English/Canadian. I mean whats better than a steak and home made chips or a big heaping fish stew or better yet... I nice big roast! I also am a big fan of french food and one of my favorite dishes to make is crepes suzette. I am a high school kid who tries to eat relatively healthy besides drinking a fair bit of coca-cola.![]()
Cheers,
Chase
