About
Was trained as a social worker and 've been doing this for more than 10 years. The Fifteen effect is just fascinating and so touching that made me cried every time I watched it. Also passionate about cooking and good food, had owned my own little cake shop and strived to enter the catering industry, now I'm planning to return to the social work profession and hoping to make good use of the Fifteen concept to inspire those who are in need.

Great news to Hong Kong!

GENERAL BLOG

I was too excited this morning to know that Mr. Jamie Oliver and the team has confirmed to open a new restaurant in Hong Kong.

Although it won't be under the name of Fifteen, I do enjoy Italian food.  I believe that a lot of people here in H.K share this  preference when considering many other western cuisine . It's simple, fresh  and tasty!

From the news content, I'm also happy to know that H.K will be considered as a training base for the chain.  I do think that we have lot of people who  apprecipate cooking as a means for wholeperson development and be able to secure a job, even a career in the future.  People who are dedicated can virtually go anywhere in the world to chase their dreams.

So did I.......

Even though  I was trained as a social worker, I discovered another interests in my life that is sooo.....important to me in the later part of my life.  I initiated a business and wrote to apply jobs in the kitchen after the business was closed down a few years ago.   I didn't consider closing down of business was a true failure because I gained a lot of valuable experiences and a hard core training.   Finally, I managed to work in Zuma when the Japnanese restaurant was opened in 2007.   Due to a lot of unexpectancy, I was forced to leave Zuma.  The tears is still in my eye.  My heart for real cooking has never stopped.   H.K is lacking a good and systematic training in the F&B industry.    Our problem is that we see people in the catering industry are low educated and deserve no respect from the community.

I hope that the opening of Jamie's Italian in H.K will be a golden opportunity to bring a solution.
One thing is that I hope the restaurant won't just accept youth who are under 18 but would open up to people who are genuine about cooking and want to use cooking as a means to change their lives and bring happiness to themselves, families and even the society.

lol
