Winter Crops continue...
Fri 13 Nov 2009GARDEN BLOG
I have been in the garden harvesting some amazing winter veg!
Last year we planted well and got a brilliant harvest during the Summer, but neglected the winter veg... so at the beginning of Autumn it was too late to plant and our Winter crops fell flat!
This year, since we have a lot more ground to plant we have planned our crop rotation better and hopefully will have masses of veg throughout the whole of the winter...
Cabbage, Kale, Cauliflower, Brocolli, Winter carrots, Onions, suede, turnip, celeriac, chard is still going strong! it just keeps comming and comming!!! we are also still using the sacks of potatoes that we stored in the sheds under dark tarpaulins... they have stored amazingly well!
All the best guys
Dave

Fox and Hounds at Harlestone...
Thu 12 Nov 2009GENERAL BLOG
Hi guys, I was just thinking that I have never posted you guys a picture of the place where I work, and have now for nearly 2 years... The Fox and Hounds at Harlestone
I have talked about it a lot and posted some of you regular guys the web address but for everyone else... here it is!
here is some gumf from the pubs website!!!
The Fox & Hounds at Harlestone is a lovely stone built pub and dining room near Northampton. The warm sandstone and thatch cottages are a testament to the centuries of quarrying that has taken place here, evidenced by the many hills and hollows in nearby fields.
Great English beers alongside Continental pilsners. Famous Clarets next to fruity new World Sauvignons. They all blend to form a quintessential English pub with traditional values but in a beautifully modern design.
Our opening times are from 11am-11pm Monday to Saturday and between 11am - 10.30pm on Sundays. We serve the main menu all day from 12 - 9.30pm Monday to Saturday and from 12 - 8pm on Sundays.
The menu is simple but up to the minute. It's tempting, with homely things like fired pizzas, steaks and fish and chips, but with some contemporary, global touches to keep things lively. Our Chefs introduce daily specials using market fresh ingredients which add even more choice to our already superb menu.
The atmosphere at The Fox & Hounds is relaxed, friendly and informal, while the overall impression is of a pub which is comfortable, light and open. It is our attention to detail and high level of service that ensures your whole dining experience more than exceeds your expectations.
We also offer alfresco dining in our covered area and in the garden when the weather permits.
