About
I am on the wrong side of 40, but still 19 inside, with a wonderful hubby, 2 boys 17 and 14 and 1 girl 12 (going on 19). We live in a small village tucked in the fens in England we moved here in 2007 when we fell in love with the village and area. The house which though built in 1997 still has an old country feel to it, and has a garden large enough for me to grow my own veg, though no chickens which I did want aswel as an office space from which we run our HR business. I love to cook, and I love to grow the things I cook. My mother taught me and my 3 brothers to cook from a very young age, sadly she passed away before she could see how these skills have been passed onto her 11 Grandchildren. I would consider myself lucky in the fact that I have achieved many of the things in life that I have so far wanted, I have a lovely home and family and we are financialy self supportive we have lean times and we have good times but thats life. My next challenage in life is to be more adventurous with my cooking - hence joining this site. Meal times are a family time in this home, anyone is always welcome to sit round the kitchen table and watch me cook and chat so long as they are aware that they will be given the odd task !, many evenings now the children are older, are spent this way, about 6'sh we all sort of drift to the kitchen and do homework, chop veg and eat as and when things are ready. Thats me really, I am short tempered, but told that I am easy to be with, I am good at listening, but will always speak my mind, I love my home and my family and will fight anything that threatens them, I like a glass of wine, and hate large crowds, I like the smell of rain on a hot summers day, and the feel of sand shifting under my toes. The simple things in life - I don't ask much.

The rain kept coming much to the gardens delight, ( my water butts are full !!) so after the sponge cake then the jam tarts I mixed some more pastry and made cornbeef pasties for tea, they were yummy with the first of the salad leaves from the garden ( I got quite wet running down the garden to get them but it was worth it, the first rain for weeks ).
