From: .....by the river........about me
Hi There, My name is Mari and have been a member of this forum since the very beginning. I also vividly remember often taking a browse in the very first Jamie Oliver website when Jools was writing Jamie's diary. I have been in the professional cooking industry for many years specializing in fine dining, but I pretty much like it ALL. I feel that I have an unconditional love and passion for top quality food. Culinary I consider a blank / infinite canvas where the acquisition of knowledge is never ending......... Through the company that I presently work for I am realizing a long life goal / dream, which is to come to this side of the pond to see how culinary is done. I couldn't have been more lucky to come at a time when the British Culinary Revolution is in full force! It gratifies me sooooooo much to be a part of this even in the smallest way. Slowly but surely I can see why I have always wanted to come to England. Acclimation I feel is still happening and every day, I thank my lucky stars for the wonderful friends here that have shown me incredible ongoing support! With every day that passes I like being here more and more.......... Through Jamie Oliver's Blog Spot I would like to share random photos of all *food related stuff*, quality food product, eating out, drinks, dishes that I have prepared, community work, etc., etc., etc. Being that my job requires a demanding work load, I may not get back here as often as I would like. From the dishes that I have prepared if anyone would like recipes, please give me a shout. My high goal is to some day go independent; open a small place that offers good, consistent quality food. I'm not exactly sure where it will be? I'll know it when the feeling is just right! All of these experiences will help me put out the best food possible, that's for sure! Chefs have the energy of bulldozers (sometimes I really don't know where it comes from; adrenaline ;o) ) with the gentle precision of a butterfly landing on a flower! Power to the *spatula*!Ice Sculpting 2
These pieces are done by a dear colleague of mine, or should I say ex-colleague. His great interest in ice sculpting prompted him to leave cheffing so that he could intensely focus only on the art of ice sculpting! He's loving and getting really good at it!
This is a male torso with *luge*
; *luge* meaning a narrow sort of canal made within the sculpture starting at the top (close to the neck) and ending at the hip basically. Through this vodka can be poured and received beautifully cold into a shot glass or straight into your mouth
! He made this for a friend's summer party and it was quite the hit!
I just LOVE the detailing in the piece and wanted to share it with you!![]()
