The picture was taken this morning. Look at the size of the plants!Especially the lettuce. I'll wait for another week for them to grow so that I can eat some of it. Haha I wonder how much longer I must wait for the tomatoes and chillies to bear it's fruit?
Do u think I should transfer some of the plants into a pot? or just leave it that way?

I'm pretty pleased with what the garden has turn out to be at of state. But I think it'll take sometime to grow some fruit like the chillies and tomatoes. Hope I could et a glimpse of it before going to back to the UK. ![]()
Kembayau - BRUNEI EXOTIC FOOD
Since Jamie Oliver mentioned about posting some exotic fruit or vegetable. Here's my fair share.
Came over several time to the local night market to have a look at some of the fruit and vegetables that I bet you all have never heard of. For today's posts. It's all about Kembayau (Pronunciation - Cam-Ba-Yaw) I hope I got that right ![]()
Kembayau (Canarium odontophyllum) is a fruit unique to Borneo especially in Brunei which is widely diversify. The fruit has special affinity to Bruneians. Quality fruits have oily yellowish appearance when the outer dark purple skin is removed. The edible portion is the unctuous mesocarp about 6 - 8mm thick that surrounds the hard 3 angular seed. The whole fruit is soaked 5 - 10 minutes in hot water to soften the mesocrap and eaten with sugar or salt. The seed containing the whitish compressed cotyledon can also be eaten.
After tasting for a couple of times, it has a fine flavour with a sort of potatoish flavour. That's how I would describe it.
If you get the chance to be in brunei, go ahead try out this fruit! ![]()
