is there anyone who has a good bagel recipe??
Wed 10 Mar 2010GENERAL BLOG
i made some bagels. they were not a disaster, but to be honest, they looked weird and they didn't taste good at all!
for 12 bagels i used:
450g flour
50g corn starch
1 package of dry yeast
3 teaspoons of dark candied sugar
275ml warm water
1 egg white
i made a yeast dough out of all these ingredients, let it rise, formed the bagels, put them in slightly boiling water for a minute each, then put them on a baking tray and baked them for 15 minutes. ah, and i covered the bagels with egg yolk before baking them.....
ok, you master bakers, please tell me how to improve my bagel baking skills. ![]()
salad!
Wed 10 Mar 2010GENERAL BLOG
i made caipirinha the other day and still had some limes so i decided to experiment.....i had corn salat with spring onions, roasted sunflower and pumpkin seeds and pine nuts, and a dressing made of lime jiuce, brown sugar, sunflower oil, salt, and pepper. due to the lime juice the salad tasted really fresh and refreshing - i will keep in mind to use lime juice for dressings in summer!
1 COMMENTcooking challenge - cooking on a student's budget
Wed 10 Mar 2010GENERAL BLOG
it's been a while that this challenge took place......finally i'm posting my picture. i made potatos with kale and mini cabanossi sausages. it took me like 22 minutes to prepare and boil the potatos and the rest. i can't remember what the price was, but it was definitely not higher than the limit we set.
p.s. forgot to say that i used preserved kale......so i just had to heat it and not clean, cut and cook it during those 20 minutes.
spanish omelette - cooking challenge
Tue 26 Jan 2010GENERAL BLOG
it's nothing special....this is my spanish omelette, which i made for last week's cooking challenge. i am still thinking about another dish....will probably make it next weekend for my family. (i thinks it's easier to cook for more people than just for one....)
while i was eating lunch, i was thinking about this week's cooking challenge and searching for a japanese recipe. i found some - and now i can't decide which one to take.
i would love to make sushi rolls, but there is so much stuff i would need to buy for making them that i will not do them. now i'm thinking about soups...or beef......or tofu.....or whatever. ![]()
