Sun 11 Oct 2009GENERAL BLOG
It seems to develop into a habbit of the guys to come over on saturdays to meet at my place. As I am trying to get better with cooking anyway, I am kinda happy to have some patient guinnea pigs as vict...erm.... guests. I realised that I like to have people over and take care of them.
This time we had some bruschetta to go with the last minutes of a football game, chicken with potatoes and zucchini from the oven and apple crumble with a selfmade custard. Sadly the pics from the dessert were pretty bad, so I cannot present them now. I have another crumble in the oven from the leftovers though. I can smell it allready..........
Girls, this one is for you...

A chocolate brownie, vanilla icecream and butterscotch sauce.
According to the cliché in the movies, women eat stuff like this all the time when they are feeling down.
But you know what, I made this as a dessert for a bunch of guys and they nearly licked all the plates clean. I actually also wanted to make pictures of the selfmade burgers, but having six hungry guys fighting for meat is not a pleasant sight you could present here!
The thing that I've learned is that sweet calories make everyone happy ![]()
ricepudding with cinnamon and caramelized apples

I actually had other plans for a late lunch but since I will meet up with some friends later on, why not have a good mood and comforting snack. I had some leftover apples, so I thought about a little journey back into childhood memories ![]()
The evolution of the blob

The last entry has been a while. The reason is simply that I had misplaced my camera. I tell you, once your age shows a 4 in the beginning, your memory sometimes shows some serious gaps. Well, anywway, I have found it just in time to witness quite a spectacle. The evolution and transformation of a sticky grey-brownish mess into a gorgeous and even more important, a delicious being.
Following the recipe from Despina33: http://www.jamieoliver.com/foodwise/art … hp?id=2192
To be honest, when I first saw that bubbly mass in my bowl, I did not have much hope for success, but surprisingly everything turned out great into my first "No-knead"-bread ![]()
Chili con carne fiasko
Sun 06 Sep 2009GENERAL BLOG
I tried to follow a recipe from one of the JO books to the letter and had some friends over. Sadly, we discovered that none of us is especially fond of coriander. Ah, well, we ate it and joked a lot but it was obvious that none of us was very happy.
