Fat cat

Thu 23 Oct 2008
GENERAL BLOG

I like to put extra baking powder in my pancakes to make them extra fat. On this one I sprinkled bee pollen. Does anyone have recipes for bee pollen. They say its great for you. I sometimes put it in homemade granola or trail mix but I'm looking to shake things up. tongue

Vietnamese coriander

Wed 22 Oct 2008
GENERAL BLOG

I wanted to share this because it blew my mind. My herb guy at the market has all these fancy aromatic herbs this season and this is Vietnamese coriander. It fragrance is a bit more lemony than the regular one, more like burn licorice maybe also. The twigs are like thin bamboo branches and the leaves are Chronicles of Narnia green. I love my herb guy he also has Greek basil with tiny heart shaped leaves. And oregano flowers which are pretty. I shop all those herbs and trow them into fluffed up couscous with olive oil and enjoy the remnants of summer.

GARDEN BLOG

Gently simmer halved and pitted plums with two sprigs of thyme and half a cup of sugar for 20 minutes for a complex aroma of sweet and herby deliciousness. Perfect for a broken heart that wants sweets without the bulge.
