About
I'm 42 years young and LOVE cooking. My family is originally from Italy and my Mum was a fantastic cook. She cooked us the most wonderful dishes and I have fond memories of sitting round the dinner table with my family, eating great food that had been prepared with one very special ingredient...LOVE. This is still important to me today and I could never just throw a ready meal in the microwave and serve it up to my family. I think good food isn't about expensive ingredients or making plates look like works of art but about making food that's tasty and will make your friends and family come back for seconds :)
Oh and we tend to eat mostly Italian in our house but I will try anything and everything that looks and tastes good :) If the food i've made looks good i'll take a piccy of it too, much to the annoyance of my hubby, who will have to wait patiently whilst i take the umpteenth photo, lol.

Ragu with Shin of Beef
Wed 11 Nov 2009GENERAL BLOG
in this recipe, shin of beef is braised slowly in a tomato and herb sauce, then served with pasta...i was supposed to make fresh egg tagliatelle but never got round to it so i served it with dried pappardelle instead
you can also serve the sauce on a bed of polenta if you prefer ![]()

Blueberry Muffins
Tue 10 Nov 2009GENERAL BLOG
i use the same basic recipe for all of my muffins (see Cranberry & Vanilla Muffins) and just add different fruits
( i used frozen blueberries for this recipe) i usually keep the vanilla as a flavouring unless i'm making pineapple muffins, in which case i'll use cinnammon and nutmeg instead .
i also sprinkled and drizzed these ones with icing sugar ![]()
yesterday's supper- Timballo
Tue 10 Nov 2009GENERAL BLOG
one of my favourite baked pasta dishes
just for a change, i used minced veal instead of beef ...not bad, but not worth the extra cost really .....nobody seemed to notice that i'd changed it
the recipe is already on foodwise http://www.jamieoliver.com/foodwise/art … hp?id=2469![]()
