Especially for "the DYOU NO USHI NO HI" (the day of the Ox of dog day summer"?!?!).....sorry...which I directly translated by myself to explain about Japanese term called "DOYOU NO USHI NO HI"...as I could not find this word in English...yes, then I started realise there is not this custom outside Japan.
Hope you know about "dog day" or "dog day of summer"....
Commonly, people eat "eel" at "the DOYOU NO USHI NO Hi. This year was July 19th(last Sunday). I bought a Grilled eel from the supermarket for making "Unadon" at that day. Why people eat eel that day? for some reasons beacause eel contains high nutrients and vitamins which helps tireness of your body recover quickly and build up stamina in your body!
