support the marathon runners by cooking dinner!
Tue 13 Oct 2009GENERAL BLOG
Hi everyone,
With less than three weeks to go the marathon runners are treading the pavement in preparation for the big day. There has been a great deal of team spirit as staff from across Jamie’s companies and Fifteen have come together to raise Ł50,000 for Fifteen Foundation.
We have deemed October “Marathon Fundraising Month” and there are a number of ways that you can be involved to raise money for the team. The first is to donate on the Just Giving page – http://www.justgiving.com/fifteennymarathon/ and the second way is to cook a meal for your family and friends to raise money. Fifteen have teamed up with Dinner For Good – it’s a great idea. You email an invitation to your family and friends for dinner and they respond with a donation to Fifteen. Here is the website if you are keen to host a dinner and if you want to make it extra special then we can even suggest menus that have been collated using Jamie’s recipes - http://www.dinner4good.com/
Here is a video of the most recent graduates – it’s quite inspirational and a good motivator for the team - http://www.youtube.com/user/jamieoliver … XipxCSUi5U
And finally for a bit of fun we thought that you may want to take a peek at a video of the runners - http://www.youtube.com/fifteentv#p/u
I wonder if the forum members would like to turn the "Weekly cooking challenge" into a marathon fundraising dinner? I and the rest of the team would be over the moon if you did!
Thanks from the entire team for your support!

fifteen apprentices graduate
Thu 01 Oct 2009GENERAL BLOG
Hi everyone,
On Monday the 28th of September I had the pleasure of attending the graduation ceremony for group 7 apprentices from Fifteen London. I have been lucky enough to attend every graduation ceremony and this one was as moving and as special as all of the others. The apprentices were so excited and proud that they had graduated and they definitely desereved all of the accolades that they received. Their friends and family were there to celebrate as well and the new group of apprentices were there as well preparing and serving the food. It's wonderful that they get to see where they could be on the completion of the course and I have no doubt that the special memories of the ceremony will carry them through any challenges that they may face.
Here is a news story from Wendy my colleaugue at Fifteen Foundation:

Hi everyone
As you may have heard Jamie has been working in the States on a campaign similar to the Ministry of Food campagn that he started here in the UK. Jamie says "My new US TV series is being filmed in Huntington, WV. It’s going to be on ABC next year. We’re setting up a community cooking center and we’re working with the lovely local lunch ladies to put fresh food on school menus. I want to see if we can get America cooking again."

great recipes in foodwise!
Mon 28 Sep 2009GENERAL BLOG
Hi everyone,
I hope that you all had a great weekend. I was in Suffolk for the weekend for the Aldeburgh Food Festival. It was fantastic and I am currently writing a news story about the students from Orford Primary school who gave a cooking demonstration. They have been involved in the kitchen garden project where they are planting and harvesting their own veges and then learning to cook with them.
I also wanted to let you know that I met this lovley lady from my hometown Brisbane in London recently - Alison Taafe. Alison has very kindly uploading some recipes from her book - Fun, Fast and Fabulous Food on in Foodwise - check them out when you get a chance.
It's great to see the library of members recipes that is being created in Foodwise.
Thanks and regards
Danny
orford primary school kitchen garden
Fri 25 Sep 2009GENERAL BLOG
Hi everyone,
You may racall a few months back that I wrote about a great project my colleague Louise has been working on. This is the creation of a kitchen garden at Orford primary school in Suffolk. This weekend I am travelling up to Suffolk as we have a stand at the Aldeburgh Food Festival that is promoting the kitchen garden at the school.
Drop by if you are at the festival and say hi! The kitchen garden has been very successful and the children have really taken the garden to heart. Check back on the site soon for an interview with Louise about the kitchen garden and also some tips for those of you who may be interested in starting your ownl.
