About
Welcome!!! I´m 35 years old, living with my boyfriend about an hours drive north of Cologne. We´ve got three cats named Agent J, Agent K and Agent Red. Guessed it? Yes, we pretty much like the movie Men In Black. And two of our cats are black, of course! I´ve always loved cooking and baking, but it´s not that I´m creating top cuisine here! I have to say, though, that I´m getting more and more into the whole thing, and I´m enjoying it a lot. What else.... I love travelling, I love trying out different food, I love going to concerts (fave band is Take That and I have no problems admitting that *lol*), reading books (preferrably archaeology or to do with food), I love doing catering (even though doing this as a job would be too stressfull me thinks!), and last but not least for now we´re MAD about coffee here! My OH is roasting his own coffee, if that´s not mad I don´t know..... I do not share Jamie´s love for chillies, unfortunately my stomach is on war with everything that is too hot, I do react with terrible stomach pain to it! What a shame! Enjoy life, see you on the forum!

It still smells lovely all around our flat!
The recipy is from a lovely forumer from another forum. I´ve changed it slightly (it was meant to be extra-low-fat but I´m not too keen on using margarine and sweetener) and it turned out lovely! Shame they´re all gone now!
I will post the recipy asap!
creamy squash soup

We had this soup yesterday, one of my favourites at this time of year!
The main ingredients are curry paste, onions, garlic, squash, apples and single cream.

grapes in spicy chocolate
Mon 12 Oct 2009GENERAL BLOG
My OH loves these and they are very simple to make, too:
I took some dark chocolate, melt it slowly with just a tiny bit of single cream, added a tsp of ginger syrup and a bit of fresh ground black pepper.
I then bathed the grapes in chocolate, placed them on a tray with baking paper and put the tray in the fridge.
They taste best right out of the fridge! I have to say I´d prefer to have them in the summer but I had soooo many grapes (I got almost 3 kilos on saturday!) that I decided to follow this idea and simply try it.
damson flan - one of my fave cakes!
Fri 09 Oct 2009GENERAL BLOG
This is soooo easy to make.... you just need a yeast dough, the damsons and some sugar and cinnamon to sprinkle on top as soon as it comes out of the oven. Bliss!
When using the original recipy the flan case is meant to be crispy like a pizza, and the damsons come out all juicy. We prefer to eat it whilst it is still warm.
A traditional regional dish is thick veg soup (mostly potatoes, puréed) and damson flan right out of the oven, sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon.

chicken roast with red cabbage and mashed potatoes
Mon 05 Oct 2009GENERAL BLOG
This was yesterdays dinner - I was in the mood to try a new filling for the chicken and it was really good! It was simple, too, just one big chopped up onion, three cloves of garlic and two apples. I seasoned the filling with some olive oil, salt and a ready mix for marrocan chicken and stuffed the chicken with it.
I didn´t do anything with the chicken apart from washing and drying it, all the seasoning was mixed into the filling and it was just enough to give the chicken a nice flavour.
I´ve had a bit of the filling left over, chopped up one more big onion and two apples and mixed it with the rest of the filling, added some olive oil, salt and pepper.
That´s the short version, I will post the recipy on foodwise at some point, too.
I might have to start a list what I want to post on foodwise soon I suppose....
