About
Welcome!!! I´m 35 years old, living with my boyfriend about an hours drive north of Cologne. We´ve got three cats named Agent J, Agent K and Agent Red. Guessed it? Yes, we pretty much like the movie Men In Black. And two of our cats are black, of course! I´ve always loved cooking and baking, but it´s not that I´m creating top cuisine here! I have to say, though, that I´m getting more and more into the whole thing, and I´m enjoying it a lot. What else.... I love travelling, I love trying out different food, I love going to concerts (fave band is Take That and I have no problems admitting that *lol*), reading books (preferrably archaeology or to do with food), I love doing catering (even though doing this as a job would be too stressfull me thinks!), and last but not least for now we´re MAD about coffee here! My OH is roasting his own coffee, if that´s not mad I don´t know..... I do not share Jamie´s love for chillies, unfortunately my stomach is on war with everything that is too hot, I do react with terrible stomach pain to it! What a shame! Enjoy life, see you on the forum!

Zwetschgennudeln - now try to say it!
Sun 04 Oct 2009GENERAL BLOG
I´d probably translate it into "baked damson in a sweet pizza dough" or something like that!
It´s a perfect way to use up leftover pizza dough. I´m sweetening the dough with sugar when I´m baking this as a single dish, though.
I´ve replaced the stone of the damson with a cube of sugar and a tiny bit of cinnamon, baked all the balls for about 40 minutes, then poured some single cream between them and left them in the oven for another 15 minutes.
They can be eaten warm with vanilla sauce (or custard) or cold. They are also perfect for freezing, you just have to take them out of the freezer the day before, warm them up in the oven for 1-2 minutes and they taste like freshly made! Just a tip: defrost them in the cold oven over night, saves you from having flies on them!
Recipy will be up asap, probably not before end of october, though.
The next four weeks will be really tough, so fingers crossed I´ll find some time every now and then to post something.
Won´t post for a while
Thu 01 Oct 2009GENERAL BLOG
Hi everyone,
I´m not doing well at the moment and will step back from posting for a while. I will come online and check on the blog and maybe read a couple of posts, but life is so hard on us right now that I just have no strength left to do anything except get up every day and try to get through the day the best way I possibly can.
I hope to be on and posting soon.
chicken roulades with mashed potatoes....

.....and curry carrots.
Apart from a few spoonfull of carrots there is nothing left. Oh the roulades turned out so lovely, they weren´t dry at all, something that happens quickly to any kind of poultry. Nice and juicy, and the filling was yum, too!
Recipy will be up asap. Got quite a few to post (again!)
Have a lovely week everyone!
Meatballs how I prefer to serve them
Tue 15 Sep 2009GENERAL BLOG
This was our dish then - meatballs with mozzarella served on a mixed leaf salad with homemade salad sauce and crema di balsamico.
They´re also nice on a cold buffet or served hot with mashed potatoes in the winter.
I´ll post the recipy as soon as I find the time to.
meatballs with mozzarella
Tue 15 Sep 2009GENERAL BLOG
I made these ones a while ago already, but something was wrong with the photos so I needed my OH to work on them.
So here they are - fresh out of the oven. I like cooking meatballs in the oven, it means you don´t have to add any additional fat and the little puddle you see underneath the meatball is fat that has come out during the baking process.
Using pure beef for example you´ve got less fat meatballs than you might think this way!
