About
Welcome!!! I´m 35 years old, living with my boyfriend about an hours drive north of Cologne. We´ve got three cats named Agent J, Agent K and Agent Red. Guessed it? Yes, we pretty much like the movie Men In Black. And two of our cats are black, of course! I´ve always loved cooking and baking, but it´s not that I´m creating top cuisine here! I have to say, though, that I´m getting more and more into the whole thing, and I´m enjoying it a lot. What else.... I love travelling, I love trying out different food, I love going to concerts (fave band is Take That and I have no problems admitting that *lol*), reading books (preferrably archaeology or to do with food), I love doing catering (even though doing this as a job would be too stressfull me thinks!), and last but not least for now we´re MAD about coffee here! My OH is roasting his own coffee, if that´s not mad I don´t know..... I do not share Jamie´s love for chillies, unfortunately my stomach is on war with everything that is too hot, I do react with terrible stomach pain to it! What a shame! Enjoy life, see you on the forum!

mascarpone-pear-cookies-tower with espresso
Thu 05 Mar 2009GENERAL BLOG
This was our dessert when we had the variations of goat cheese. I had some of the tipsy mascarpone-cream left and decided to use it up for this. Mmmmmmh!
It is really great with an espresso. I have to improve this one, too, because the cookies were just an "accident". I´m gonna make this once more but with biscuit, so it´s more like a mini-cake.
I also thought of making variations of this, one with a vanilla-biscuit, pears and matching mascarpone-cream, one with chocolate-biscuit with strawberries and coffee-mascarpone-cream and the last one with vanilla-biscuit, kiwi and matching mascarpone-cream. That would make me have the italian flag then!
Just realised I´ve got a lot to do before I can post all the recipies on foodwise that I´ve posted on the blog!
Any suggestions on how to improve the dishes are very very welcome!
variations of goat cheese
Thu 05 Mar 2009GENERAL BLOG
This was our dinner a couple of days ago:
Three different goat cheese, covered with olive oil and crushed peppercorns, wrapped up in Tyrol ham and pan-fried slowly.
Have cooked some little potatoes, cut them in fourths and pan-fried them in olive-oil until they had a nice crust.
Last but not least the field salad, topped with a dressing made of salt, pepper, sugar, herbs, olive oil, apple vinegar and condensed milk. I pourred it over the field salad and added a few drops of crema di balsamico.
As we didn´t have any sun I´ve "made" my own as you can see on the plate! ![]()
Quick-and-dirty-dessert
Thu 05 Mar 2009GENERAL BLOG
A friend of ours challenged me at about 8pm. He wanted to have something sweet, preferrably with chocolate! It was meant to be a joke but I´m good at taking those challenges anyway, just to see their funny faces!
This is what I came up with, just having very little time to prepare:
chocolate-espresso-custard with steamed pears and some tipsy mascarpone-cream.
We loved it so much I´m gonna improve it a bit and post it in foodwise (I´ve used some instant products, which I normally don´t like doing).
