mama cooking in the kitchen

GENERAL BLOG

My mother is visiting for a while, and she kindly gave me a break from cooking dinner the other night. She made her hungarian chicken paprika. You cook large pieces of chicken, still with skin and bone, in a lovely stew of bell pepper, tomato, stock, and lots of spices (including, of course, paprika). In the end you pull off the meat, discarding skin and bones, return meat to the stew, and add sour cream. You can serve it over dumplings, macaroni, or rice. Will try to get the recipe out of her!

That sounds such a great comforting, nourishing dish! One from your childhood?
