Dear Jamie,

Today at school it was announced that I was elected to be Kimberly Park State School’s CLEAN AND GREEN CAPTAIN. I went for school captain but unfortunately did not get this, however I am so excited to have achieved the above title, as I believe I can make a difference with the help of my fellow students towards creating a better environment for the future and introduce a program using our environment to create better eating habits for all.
I am already filled with lots of ideas on what I would like to do with my title, making small changes within the school, to get even bigger rewards would mean a lot to me.
One of the ideas I have is we have a vegie patch at school which I would like to make bigger and one day use this to have cooking classes for all students to be involved in. Not only could we learn a lot about food and health but also team building with gardening and cooking. This is the reason I am writing to you, I would like to ask if time allows you on your travels to Australia or via email if you could help me with my dreams. I am a huge fan and love the way you teach children how to cook and be healthy. (I must admit, I’m just getting my taste buds with different spices, fruits and vegetables, my mum’s a great cook and always lets us help) I would like to learn more about food and what we can do from school and home.

I would also love to introduce recycle bins as another one of my ideas. My main goal though is the wonderful veggie patch and using it not only in our canteen foods, but to start up a cooking program for all and learn everything possible about food.

What foods we eat and use in the canteen we could contribute by growing this in our veggie patch instead.
If this program went well I would love to start a little restaurant in the school, where at lunch time instead of Mum’s and Dad’s making lunch the kids can learn and cook their own lunches and then go home to help their parents with making dinner together as a family.

If there was any chance you could help me even if I could get your advice I would really love your help.
