it's the first time I see them in my life, I have sown them only for curiosity and given to many friends to transplant, I cqannot imagine how could a full field of linen be in flower![]()

............. I do not know why they make me think to Palestina, and I stored them once in a short poem

We have several fields of Flax near me (the flowers are mostly over now), but I am not sure how well they have done this year because of the dreadful weather. As I type we are in the middle of another huge rain/thunder storm!!!
I love the gently waving expanses of blue, that seems like a land-locked sea when the wind blows.
I generally grow the blue-flowered & the carmine-flowered varieties in the front of my mixed borders for an eye-popping slash of clear colour.

I would have never thought of cultivating for me unknown plants, just for the sake of seing them flourish, as if I had nostalgia of food for our souls which is not at hand anymore, fortunate you Minny for having a sea of linen flowers near you .............. even if in the rain, coraggio ![]()
