This is how the Women's Institute members like to party.............we bake, we share, we have fun.
As far as I am aware none of the ladies (all of a certain age) have ever had any formal culinary training or cooked professionally. The cakes & sandwiches tasted divine, & were dainty & elegant.

We were treated to finger sandwiches in 1/2dozen or so flavours, tiny scones with Cornish clotted cream & h/m strawberry jam, & a choice of 5 different cakes. We started with a glass of Champagne, & finished with lots of hot tea.

Despite having hectic lives, it's nice to just take a moment to sit & take tea with friends.
