The holiday season is upon us. It is almost Christmas and most of you are probably having dinner with family and friends. If you are hosting a Christmas dinner or it might not have to be a Christmas dinner, you might be just throwing a warm and intimate dinner party at your home. Why not spice things up a little and get out of your comfort zone with the type of foods you are planning to prepare?

Most people love lasagna; that’s undeniable. However, preparing a really good lasagna dish can be also tough because it is a very common dish that many people have had many times so you would want yours to stand out and be scrumptious.

Two words for you: Lasagna cupcakes. Yes, the words lasagna and cupcakes next to each other is a combination that you are not used to but think of these cupcakes as mini, individual lasagna bites if you will. They are incredibly practical and easy to make and most importantly they would make a surprising and delicious appetizer for your dinner party.

What you need is;

Ground beef – 1/3 pound

Shredded mozzarella Cheese – 2 Cups

Pasta Sauce – 1 cup

Parmesan Cheese – 2 cups

A muffin tin, preferably one with 12 holders and 24 wonton wrappers because you will do two layers in each space.

Ricotta cheese – ¾ cup

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Use a little butter and spread it on the muffin tin spots and then add salt and pepper and cook the beef until it is brown. You need circle shaped wonton wrappers. Put some parmesan and mozzarella cheese aside because you will sprinkle them on top of the lasagna cupcakes. Place the wrappers into the muffin tin then put ingredients in; preferably put in ricotta, mozzarella and parmesan cheese in then beef and top it off with pasta sauce. Then repeat the layers and sprinkle some mozzarella and parmesan cheese that you put aside on top of each. Bake for 20 minutes and let it stand for 5 minutes and you are done!

Lasagna cupcakes are getting more and more popular. They are definitely very delicious and awfully easy to make. It does not take a lot of time and after you prepare them and bake them for 20, you are done. Depending on your oven, you should start checking them after 15-16 minutes and take them out when the edges are brown. Enjoy!
