Freshly baked gingerbread
There is nothing quite like the smell of gingerbread baking in the oven! It fills the whole house with that wonderful Christmas aroma...mmmm! Once out of the oven, they didn't last long with my brood that's for sure! (So I have made some lemon and ginger cupcakes as a surprise for tomorrow!)
I love the thought of a good christmas aroma in the house I have not tried baking ginger bread . I will have to give it . You have inspired me thanks.
They are a very pale colour.........does the recipe contain golden syrup & black treacle???
When I make Gingerbread (often throughout the winter months) I also include chopped dates & chopped stem ginger, & then wrap in greaseproof & leave for 3-5 days to 'relax' ie go very sticky, before eating.
