  • This year I'm all about making things in advance to make the big day as easy as possible. Check out my new show "Jamie's Family Christmas" on Channel 4 from the 14th of December, to see how you can get ahead of the game.
  • I love turkey, but if you want to try something different, how about cooking a goose or duck this year? You could even do a gorgeous glazed ham, which will give you incredible leftovers. Try a good old ham and mustard sarnie or stirring shredded ham through a warming soup.
  • This might sound silly, but make sure you've got all the equipment and stuff that you need well in advance of the big day. I've heard more stories than I could count of people getting their beautiful big turkey home only to find they don't have a large enough roasting tray...
