daily mail dinner lady interviews
Thu 07 Feb 2008
Hi Guys,Just to let you know that we have posted up on the School Dinner forums a series of interviews that the Daily Mail have been conducting on some wonderful Dinner Ladies across the UK. Here is the introduction that I wrote for the first article:
"Dinner ladies (and gents!) are some of the most important people in Britain. This monthly column will help people understand more about what a vital job school cooks do. There are some great dinner ladies who’ve changed the way pupils are eating, and we’ll be featuring some of them here. One was so popular that when she was off sick, all the kids rang her to see when she was coming back, and asked their parents to cook the same food at home. Some schools are growing herbs and veg. Others are encouraging pupils to help with cooking at home. It can be done. It just needs a bit of passion and teamwork, and I hope these stories will inspire others."
