the cardoon

The end of another busy but exciting week. We have posted up some more Summer Food Podcasts for you all. Danny and I had a walk around the gardens at Thurrocks and he was asking me all sorts of questions about what I have planted and the topic lead onto us discussing a Cardoon plant that I have growing in the garden. A Cardoon is an old vegetable that is not grown as much these days, although I have been reading about some great Cardoon recipes in some antique cookbooks of mine. You will see in the Podcast that we ended up chatting about how there are certain vegetables and fruits that are not grown in this country anymore and I thought that this would make an interesting forum thread. I would be interested to hear your thoughts.
