unsigned bands competition

Fri 27 Jun 2008 @ 17:00 Hi guys,

Big thanks to all of you who responded with your thoughts and questions on the Summer Food Podcast thread. I'm really looking forward to getting outside and cooking next week.

Last year we ran an unsigned bands competition on the site. The prize was that whoever won would play at the end of our Barbeque podcast that we recorded. The response was totally overwhelming and a great little band called Modern Cliches won the public vote. Because we had such a fantastic response we thought 'Why not do it again?' only this time, much bigger and even better!

So this year we've got an amazing first prize and I'm so excited about it! The winner this year will get to perform in front of an A&R executive from Mercury Records (a division of the Universal Music Group) at a London venue!! After that, the winner will also get the chance to chat with the exec. The music industry can be very competitive so this is a great opportunity to meet someone in the business and get some good advice.

I guess all that's left for me to say is get cracking with those entries and I look forward to hearing your tunes!

Have a great weekend everyone wherever you are.

Love Jamie O xxx
