Wormsley's cricketing calendar announced
One of the venues Fabulous Feasts has the pleasure of catering at throughout the year, Wormsley Cricket Ground in Buckinghamshire, has just announced another season of great cricket and summer garden parties. Each year the private cricket ground, which is owned by the famous Getty family, opens its gates to provide cricket fans with a “quintessentially English experience”, including Fabulous Feasts’ all-British menu. But this year things are even more exciting because, among a season of high-profile matches, the line-up this year includes the eagerly anticipated Women’s Ashes Test in August.
Renowned as the most beautiful cricket ground in the country, Wormsley opens to the public on a very limited number of occasions. The season kicks off with the Unicorns taking on Middlesex in a warm-up game on Sunday 28 April, and peaks with the much anticipated Women's Ashes Test from 11-14 August. England and Australia are the two top teams in the world, so they have everything to play for in this traditional grudge match, which is expected to be a blistering four days. The England Women’s team have a 100% record at Wormsley, having previously beaten Australia twice and India in one day matches. Hopefully this excellent form will continue!
Tim Munton, ex-Warwickshire and England seamer and Managing Director of BIG Group Consultancy who manage the cricket facilities at Wormsley, said: “We are delighted Wormsley has been chosen to host the Women's Ashes Test this year. When coupled with the Unicorn's games, BUCS and Minor Counties finals plus a range of other events, the 2013 season is expected to be our biggest yet.”
Fabulous Feasts will be on-hand throughout the season to provide top-quality catering for the teams and spectators alike!
