Ingredients1kg potatoes
500g frozen peas
2 tsps garam masala
1 tsp ground coriander
1 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp hot chilli powder (or to your own taste)
2 tsp salt
A good handful of methi leaf
1 pack frozen puff pastry
50ml milk
Sorry to Libra, I didn't see your request for this, and to others who have requested...I proudly present, the world famous Indian/German fusion that is, The Samosa Strudel!!!MethodPrep. potatoes, cut into small pieces and boil for 10 minutes.
While cooking, mix spices. I prefer to blitz them for a few seconds in my Bamix blender. Reason; to get a good mix and also to finely chop the methi leaf so that you don't get the, slightly offputting, hairlike strands.
Pour off the water, let the potatoes cool and drain, then smash.
Add spice mix, stir in thoroughly.
Add frozen peas, mix...
Turn on the oven to 180C...
Take the pastry, which should be thawed enough to handle by now.
I prefer approx the 12"x8" sheets rather than the smaller square sheets.
Cut the sheet lengthways (12x4), add a sausage of the mash and make a roll.
So it should look like a long sausage roll...
Brush with milk. Put on a baking sheet. Bake for 30 minutes approx or until the pastry is nicely golden...
Then remove , allow to cool and serve with a bowl of minted yoghurt or the chutney of your choice...enjoy.
