Re: Whats For Supper?

My boyfriend and I have been disgusting recently, not moving from the sofa and generally getting fat and unhealthy.  I'm implementing a regime, starting tonight, which is my usual reaction to not being able to do my favourite jeans up: cutting out dairy, wheat, alcohol and most meat, just for a couple of weeks.  Quick fix!   wink So, tonight we'll be having homemade veggie curry (courgettes, tomatoes, sweet potato, fennel seeds, cardamon, chillies etc.) with quinoa.  It's surprisingly nice!

Re: Whats For Supper?

Last night was my night off  smile Hubby steamed a crab and shelled it for the salad

homemade salmon and surf clam nigiri sushi/sashimi

Mrs. Gibba, I don't know about the rest of the Canadians here but I love my bbq ( foods ) and use it all winter as well, no mess in the kitchen, no messy oil splatters, tastes better too! I even go out with a big umbrella if it's raining, and it usually is around here, lol! One of these years I will have a covered area just for bbqing.

Ashen, I am making crab cakes for Val Day, I was going to make a red pepper sauce but I think the chilpotle aoli would be much better, thanks!

Re: Whats For Supper?

Bcrain  i am glad it inspired you.. i loved it .. I am a bit of a Chiliehead though.. It was a bit spicy for my wife.  The aoli was actually very nice as a dressing on the mixed spring greens that came with the crab cakes..

Supper tonight... My wife made a fav of ours.. jamacian curry shrimp over some plain long grain rice.  Well hers was plain.. i mixed some Grace scotch Bonnet scauce into my rice before putting the curry over top.
Like i said.. Bit of a Chilehead.  big_smile

Re: Whats For Supper?

Ashen, that's how I was going to serve the crabcakes, on the bed of salad, kind of kill 2 birds with one stone, lol... I don't have the fresh chilpotles just a small can of them... I'll see how I can turn it into the aoli. Aren't scotch bonnets one of the hottest chilli peppers out there? Yikes!

I am going to try and attemp a bouillabaisse for Wed night.

Tonight it's a potroast. Maybe some yorkies for the kids.
