Re: Whats For Supper?

I would love to try smoked haddock sometime.  Sounds great Olivia!  There's a lady in our area who makes it, but it's quite expensive.

I'm making gluten-free pizza tonight.  Haven't decided on the toppings yet, definitely a tomato sauce, provolone and smoked mozzarella, probably bacon, sliced onions and maybe sliced tomatoes.  I wish I had some mushrooms.

Re: Whats For Supper?

Tonight will be grilled lamb chops with sauteed leeks and broccoli.

MsP - smoked haddock is well worth trying!  I like to poach it in milk with a bay leaf and either make a sauce with the reserved milk, or (as last night when I'm avoiding the flour) with a home-made hollandaise sauce.  It's also delicious in a cullen skink soup - http://scotslarder.co.uk/2012/12/scotti … len-skink/ (although theoretically you can use any good-flavoured smoked white fish).

Re: Whats For Supper?

Last night was freezer surprise.

Turned out it was a container of Italian style slow cooked lamb. So I served it up with mashed potato - the sauce had plenty of veg & as we have been mid renovation & the temps are low it's all about the comfort food here.

Wish I had some of you lot catering this renovation. Yum.

Re: Whats For Supper?

Thanks Olivia!  Will give it a try.  We can get some nice smoked white fish.

We had gluten-free pizza with tomato sauce, mushrooms, sliced spring garlic, bacon, three types of cheese and sliced onions - just one small slice and some field greens dressed with olive oil infused with blood orange.  Don't know how he managed, but MrP had some strawberry/rhubarb crumble with whipped cream as well.

Re: Whats For Supper?

Yes, thanks Ashen, we both loved it.

Tonight, we can work on another slice of pizza, field greens, steamed asparagus (got to make some extra vegetables to offset the cheese-y pizza for two days in a row - haha).

Re: Whats For Supper?

Made homemade gluten-free small flat black breads - going for Finnish style.  Dinner was hot black bread with smoked salmon, cream cheese, sliced onion, fresh tomato, lettuce, drizzle of fresh lemon.
