Re: Fellow Canadians....your favourite olive oil?

mercedes.....I've never seen avocado oil.....how does it taste?

I found a new type of olive oil at Save-On-Foods.  Filippo Berio Organic extra virgin....cold pressed.....product of Italy.  And it happened to be on sale too so I picked it up and will try it as soon as my other bottle empties.

Ashen.......did you spoil yourself and go for the pistachio oil???

Re: Fellow Canadians....your favourite olive oil?

there's a Whole Foods store in West Vancouver and you couldn't go wrong buying any olive oil there.  Everything they carry seems to be top quality.

Other than that, I find grocery store olive oils pretty rubbish.  I always get mine from local Italian vendors or little boutiquey kitchen shops.

Actually, there are some grocery store OO that are not worth your money but on whole most places are carrying many great ones that don't have shishi prices and taste great. I would still like to try a special one though, what brand do you buy canadian_dave?

I buy the Kirkland Signature at Costco.  It's  not always available but it's called Toscano and is about $12 for a litre.  I have also used Ottavia {it's also organic}.  Both are cold pressed and product of Italy.
