Hi kitten - yes, you have it spot on. Entomophagists are indeed bug eaters ![]()

Right.
Well, when you get thrown in jail for eating endangered rainbow leaf beetles be sure to rub some rosemary on your bum after your cellmate figures out what an entomophagists is.
You're probably better off eating Americans - excuse me - Chrysolina americanas.

Did I say something wrong? I'm ever so careful these days.
Tempted to a smiley but really not necessary.
And before the swarm arrive - I'm well aware that I spelt necessary wrong but know what?

Oh - that last post was aimed at Rev. G-love there, kitten. But feel free to rub some rosemary on your bum if you feel so inclined, lil darlin'.

Excuse me please: I'm mixing my lessons.
Pride does come before a fall and I'd better shut up fast.

This one is a Rainbow Beetle:

But if you do a search for it, people keep showing pictures of Rosemery beetles.

They look completely different to me.

Re: They look too good to kill.
Anyway are they edible?
Do the legal ones taste like rosemary and the illegal ones like thyme?

Re: They look too good to kill.
Indeed they are different, Abdullah. Markings on the carapace are strikingly different, though I do see how someone may confuse the two by placing too much faith in the iridescent sheen - I suppose lighting has a lot to do with that aspect.
'Do the legal ones taste like rosemary and the illegal ones like thyme?'
Haha! There is only one way to find out. As a rule, brightly colored insects usually suggest a poisonous bite - though I don't see how one crunch would do you harm. Perhaps we should leave it up to Rev. G-love to decide.

Re: They look too good to kill.
abdullah's beetles really are beautiful. If only I could clear my head of thoughts of scuttling.
Good word though - let's see if I can spell it without a dictionary - onomatopeic.

Nope, I failed it and because it took so long, i can't be bothered to apply again, so I've started teacher trainning because I promised myself I would never be a teacher when I was at school and teaching is something I really didn't want to do.
Well, if you can't do what you want to do, might as well do what you don't want to do?
Just joking, teaching does have its good points, when I find any i'll let you know.
