Using onliy English in posts..

OK, wish I read and understood Greek.

But, is that a signal that we are all Anglo's?

Think we need to be more open-minded.

Think we all need to be so AND to request translations. Should keep everyone happy!

Some things are just untranslatable, but:-

αφήνει να δει πόσα αποσπάσματα μπορούμε να εγκαταστήσουμε σε μια σελίδα!

translates as:-

it remains to be seen how many translations we can fit on a page!

joder, ni siquiera tengo esos caracteres en el teclado!

is approximately:-

F*ck, I don't even have those characters on the keyboard!

Ciascuno è artefice del proprio destino.

means (roughly) :-

Everyone creates their own destiny.

Re: Using onliy English in posts..

OK, I don't speak (other than rudimentary) Greek. I don't read it at all.

I speak and read French (fairly well), studied German for 6yrs at school which got me through Germanic countries. I speak and understand "restaurant and pleasantry" Italian.

This site forbids the use of email addresses (understandably), several US sites allow them. That has its advantages and disadvantages.

The Greeks have been singled out in this post. They, as Diamond, stated speak to each other in Greek since email addresses are banned.

However, when they speak to non-Greeks, they use English. Personally, I have no problem with this.

As seen from previous posts, we all speak different languages, other than English.

This is a world-wide site. Let us celebrate our differences and our commonalities (our love of food would be a start).

Translations (as commented on previously) would be un-weildly.

Let us not create an "us and them" mentality. We are meant to be here for the same reason: a love of food and as fans of Jamie.

'Night. Have a great week.

Maree.
