Hello! I am a 21 year old who is very passionate about food and would love to study patisserie. I'll be moving to London in 4 weeks time but the only course I can seem to see any sense in doing is the Cordon Bleu which is something I can't ever imagine myself affording as much as I would LOVE to. Has anyone got any heads up on ideas about other courses in London area OR advise on getting an apprenticeship without any previous kitchen experience? Pleeease Willing to work very hard for little cash in exchange for the experience!

Get the best training you can afford, apprentice in the best patisserie shop possible.  I'm sure my information on schools is outdated, but I think going to a good school is  going to give you that edge.  You might also consider taking a job over the holidays in a busy patisserie shop and see how you like it.

I think if you do not want to spend too much money on courses for Patisserie.. you may like to consider NVQ Level 2/3 City and Guilds (General Patisserie and Confectionery)..
