is there a problem with me making a small paella in my frypan (18cm diameter base, and 25cm diameter top)? Can I just halve all the ingredients? Might that still be too much for my pan?

Don't think so, I have tried it and works like a charm! I'd suggest after you put the rise don't mix it so some of it caramelizes at the bottom...serve with some lemon juice, delish!
