What trivialities are currently annoying you?

Hate to be negative but it is almost 5am.I had appointments all day in one of Sydney's "sattelite" China Towns.

Asked "kids",as usual, if they wanted me to grab them something for dinner- "No. Have plans."

So bought some yum cha/dim sum from a little family place that makes its own on the premises and supplies the more expensive restaurants over Sydney. That's one weekend meal with some vegs etc dealt with.So far so good smile

BTW, can "eat in" on laminex tables- don't expect plates.Dim sum served in kids' sandwich bags. Cutlery is a toothpick.Napkins are a Kleenex. Have never seen another Westerner in there- good sign IMHO.

Also bought a 12 pack of prawn "gow gee" / prawn Har Gau- (three each for snacks).

Kids arrived back fed and well past dinner time.

Trying as best as I can with my bunged right shoulder and elbow (almost 5 months now) to make a dint in the Valentine's Day orders (yes, I,know, but if they don't buy from me, the customers will buy from somone else)- rolling dough is very difficult.

Was waiting for 5 minutes to complete final stage. Peckish- no dinner, of course.

Went to the fridge. The d**n things had all been eaten- all 12!.

If it wasn't now past  5am, would turn into the "mother from hell".

Oops, sorry. Rant over. How b****y annoying. Ahhh, that feels better wink Made Vegemite toast (cliched, yes).

Anything got you going today/night?

G*d, I'd be freakin" mad, too, Maree.

And yes, I have a similar tale but don't feel as though its at all trivial. This guy I've been putting up with, the one who I would throw out but for my sense of compassion and the fact I don't have $220 for the fees, has stolen all my acrylic paint, the stuff that costs an arm and a leg and what I need to begin a new project with. Why is his life so much more important than mine?

Re: What trivialities are currently annoying you?

Oh Maree, I am so sorry to hear your arm is still not back to full function!

How annoying when someone eats your dinner! My OH is specialist at that too.

I am annoyed by my own health. Had a cold last week. It was getting better Saturday until I started having a bad stomach bug. After a horrible weekend (had to see emergency doctor on Sunday) I can slowly eat again, but my throat is killing me again and I feel rather weak.
Why on earth did I have to catch both bugs that are going around at the same time..... Am missing over a week of school too.

OK,so this was my rant...

And that the post didn't bring the books I ordered today. They were supposedly shipped and due today, but didn't come. They probably get here when I am back to health and have no time to read sad

Re: What trivialities are currently annoying you?

Too many things are bothering me at the moment, was thinking earlier that i'd make up a list and class them in "imperatifs" on the ordi, but i don't know where to start.
Funny that you should start a thread Maree.

Only hope that your troubles are little ones.

If i get started now, i'll only get all daft and start versing the tears and i only do that in privat.

As i said i won't start as i don't know where to.

"I'll be back" and probably no wiser. But as i often say "from day to day everything will work out alright".

Let's just hope that you and others will get things sorted out.

big_smile and be happy.

Re: What trivialities are currently annoying you?

I hate ironing.

When ever I do ironing my OH takes a picture and sends it to my mum.

So sunday night I get in the mood...... to iron.

I get through 2 shirts of a pile of about 30 and the ironing board collapses on me, the bottom had gone all rusty.

I was so B****Y annoyed how can the flipping thing go rusty if I never use it????

Now I have to buy another one!!!

Re: What trivialities are currently annoying you?

WD, what can I say other than I hope it gets better?

Susanne, what a bummer.Get better soon. Murphy's law will ensure your books arrive at the wrong time (sigh). Yeah who could believe that it's almost 5 months since I wrecked my right arm?

Kye, I'm a Libran and "barking mad. Am also 1/4 French.

Being a Libran, am "into lists". Can't go to bed without my "to do" list for the next day- even the most trivial item goes on it and then I prioritise using different coloured highlighters or "numbering" them in order of priority.

Crazy as it sounds, and as I am, I find that writing down even the most mundane thing and then being able to "cross it off" as I go through my day gives me a bizzare (false) sense of achievement and improves my mood/outlook.

Best wishes to all of you and, as Kye said, "be happy" smile

If all I can whinge about today is my "looked forwarded to 5am snack", in perspective, it's nothing.

At the same time, those two will get an "ear bashing" when they awaken big_smile

Re: What trivialities are currently annoying you?

Kye, sorry to hear that there are things on your mind that are enough for you to have to hold back and not call them trivial anymore! I hope things will sort themselves out. Keep your head up! (

Deb lol , maybe it rusts because you do NOT use it...? I am not the most avid ironer either and mine is rusting too. Though more at the top and probably because I have a steam iron, but....
I hope you did not hurt yourself with the falling board or the hot iron?

Re: What trivialities are currently annoying you?

Hi Maree
Great question, having read about your arm and missing dinner. I feel quilty to whinge about having had no hot water since last Friday. Took the pump into a repair shop and their rammed with work so another 4 days to survive. Least the heating works, I can still use my dishwasher and washing machine. So bearing in mind what happened with the bush fires and having watched the news were a hospital here is burning down and got no where to put there patients. I gonna look at it as extremely trivial to have no hot water and laugh it off lol

Re: What trivialities are currently annoying you?

Kye, come back, please. Just saw your post on email alerts as I was shutting down at 6.10am to go to bed.

My lists:

I really must do today;

I need to do;

I want to do;

It would nice if I could do.

Sorry that your issues don't fall into the "trivial" bag.Not to belittle your problems at all, I think that many of us have "bigger" issues that we are not able/prepared to discuss here.

Dealing with the trivials is
easier and gives us (relatively) "instant gratification", allowing us to gloss over/ forget the "real" issues, temprarily.  I am guilty of that.

Deb, have become a master of pegging clothes out so that almost none require ironing. I used to have 20 shirts/week to iron. There are short-cuts for us who are ironophobic.Ask me!
