Hi everyone,
This weekend I am doing the lamb recipe from Highland Fling, in the recipe it calls for 45 minutes @ 425, when I picked up the leg of lamb the butcher suggested only 400 and only 25 minutes. Has anyone done this before or something similar? I don't doubt Jamie's cooktimes but I am wondering why such a disparity in info. The leg is boned and butterflied and weighes approximateley 3.4 lbs. Thanks in advance.

Probably the butcher is giving you instructions to cook it rare, and Jamie had something else in mind.

I think the butcher may have meant 25 minutes per pound, I've only ever done a leg of lamb with a bone in though so am unsure, I'll have a look in my cookery books ![]()

Wow , Time really has passed. I thought that I had replied to this already. I went with Jamie's instructions and it was fabulous!!! Everyone should try out this recipe. By the way wheen I went back for more lamb for another meal in the summer low and behold the fellow that had given me the bad info was gone!
