Nakita knows that if she has a day off she isnt aloud out of bed - she has a tv & dvd in her room. If you dont enforce it she will be getting out of her bed & start opening her craft boxes or beading containers - how can a sick kid make that much mess?
Clayton when he is sick is happy to lay on the lounge with a blanket & watch dvd after dvd - last year we got him all 5 seasons of Ben10 plus the movie that was out then. It was expensive but has saved my sanity twice this year when he has been unwell.

Re: Ready, Set, Cook Discussion Thread
I cooked the "Salmon and tomato" challenge tonight using Chef Tom's recipe for "Salmon in a basil cream sauce".
I added slices of grilled tomato to the dish for the tomato component, which went well with the basil sauce.

In between stages were not photographed as the dish moves quickly and I did not want the salmon to overcook.
This dish was very tasty, with the salmon still a little pink. ![]()

Hi MrsM, good luck with your new career, hope you find something suitable
I'm going to have a go at this one, slight changes will have to be made as I can't afford $20 for that much creme fraiche!

Re: Ready, Set, Cook Discussion Thread
That looks impressive Luvmegrub! Jamie isn't a fan of the bechamel sauce, is he. I might try my vegetarian lasagne recipe but make changes to make my daughter like it more! It has a cheese sauce with ricotta mixed in, but she really dislikes ricotta and can pick it a mile away. Maybe creme fraiche - or something similar and cheaper, will work better. ![]()

WEEK 11 COOKING CHALLENGE COMMENCING 31st August 2009
Suggested by- The White Rabbit- Brussel Sprouts and Bacon
Choice 1 –
Go to this link and choose a side dish
http://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/cour … -and-sides (I couldn’t find any catagories in Jamies recipe section headed up bacon or brussel sprouts, hence the choice of sides.)
Choice 2 –
With Brussel Sprouts and Bacon create a dish inspired by a something you have always wanted to try, one already in existence.
Choice 3 –
Using the ingredients Brussel Sprouts and Bacon create a dish totally unique to the culinary world, as dish stamped with your name.
Next 4 cooking challenges will be posted on September 1st 2009, so dont forget to put your ideas in.
