Cooking for vegetarians

Hi
I'm planning on making a vegetarian thai green curry later this week as the veg option on the menu at a project I'm working on, feeding the volunteers. Not being a vegetarian myself I usually make vegetarian options purely from vegetables. But wondered would most vegetarians prefer some kind of meat substitute, quorn/tofu? or be perfectly happy with a straight veg curry?

Re: Cooking for vegetarians

I have 3 days meals to cook for shamrock, veggie lasagne is already up there as an option for one day.  Just catered it this weekend and done ratatouille, veg korma and mushroom risotto. Just fancied thai next weekend as curry option for a variety. But I have no experiance with quorn etc and don't know if it adds or detracts from the dish?

I have no experience with quorn, but I know some of the other members use it. Try the search function for "quorn". smile

Quorn...Some people love it ...but for me  puke  I really dislike the taste and texture of it.

Re: Cooking for vegetarians

I am not a vegetarian but have several vegetarian friends, so often have them over for dinner and cook a vegetarian dish. I think tofu would go really well in a Thai Green Curry, better than Quorn. Our local Thai does a Thai Green Curry for vegetarians that has tofu in it and it is delicious. I think Quorn will not take on the taste of the curry as well as tofu will. Good luck  thumbsup
