Looking for Maree

Hi Maree,

I saw and read all the comments that I could find on Crumpets and even posted some questions but was unable to find your recipe.  What am I doing wrong?  Looking under Recipease and no luck.  BTW, I live in Ireland.  Thank you for your time and answer. help  question

Not sure where Marie is, but if I  may be so bold to post this for you.

Makes approx 24- halve ingreds if you want less. Slightly softer than commercial variety.

4 cups plain/all purpose flour;

2 Aus tbs (8 teaspoons) baking powder;

1 1/2 teas salt;

1 1/2 teasp sugar;

3cups lukewarm water;

1 teaspoon dried yeast.

Preheat frying pan and egg rings over med heat. Lightly spray w cooking oil. Don't overcrowd the pan.

Sift dry ingredients together.

Add water.

Mix well.

Pour into a jug (cause it's easier to pour)

When pan and egg rings are hot, 3/4 fill egg rings with batter.

Turn down heat.

Cook on lowish temp for approx 10 mins or until surface is covered with bubbles/holes.

Remove rings- respray them for next batch.

Cover pan.

Cook another 2 mins or until surface has set.

Remove and cool on rack.

Continue until batter is used.

Toast and serve with butter.
