I don't think I want it.
Has anyone else had it?
I honestly think there isn't enough information about it and the side effects, but since I have a chronic illness my doc sais I will be called in to have it. ![]()

My sister-in-law is going to have it and my OH will certainly have to.

You're right to be careful because there is a lot of controverse about the jab.
I tought you could choose to have it or not ! Personnaly If not in the "flu" I'll not make it as prevention. hope you'll have the choice ![]()

I am looking at information but it's so confusing that I don't know what to do. I am worried that by avoiding something I could maybe get over with antibiotics, I may have worse health problems with side effects from the jab.

If the quack says you gotter, chin up girl & go for it..........if you don't & you get it, how bad are you going to be?
At some point you have to trust the quack is right................or don't & take your chances, love!
This little swine doesn't get the option.........with me, if the S.Flu mutates again (which the past evidence shows it may well do), it would simply be "Die, or don't die" for the likes of me!

No Debs you don't get over swine flu with antibiotics , this is because it is a viral infection and not a bacterial infection .
Antibiotics only work for bacterial infections.
Anti-Virals help to reduce some of the symptoms for viruses.
They want you to have the vaccine as you are in a high risk group.
It is a 2 stage vaccine and so you have to have 2 injections 2 weeks apart ..( I think its 2 weeks ).
I know that I am to be called for the vaccine as I am also in a high risk group and I will be there 'like a shot to have it' once I receive the letter !
My husband had his vaccination on Monday , due to his job , he was vaccinated.
He has suffered no side effects what so ever , he was also given the seasonal flu vaccine at the same time.
Do you usually have the seasonal flu vaccination Debs ?

would get it if I could, but they aren't offering it to me. I have heard there's not enough vaccine for people working in hospitals, where a relative works, they had 200 doses and over 1000 employees.

I would probably die if I got swine flu, I know you don't take antibiotics with viral infections, but since I do not have an immune system I have to take them, they become my immune system in a way...... or so I am told.
It's a gamble, I haven't even had the normal flu since I've been ill. I just wish I had more information and of the objective and scientific kind. I don't trust the media on this.

Darling, I don't think there is a question............you just answered your own dilemma.
Years ago, when the "Spanish Flu'" devasted populations, the records show that what happened was that people caught it got sick & either lived or died, that amazingly the elderly survived but the young, fit & healthy keeled over & died..............the medical authorities got it under control (or so they thought) & the deaths tailed off.
Later, during the winter the Flu' returned...........it had mutated (which appears to be a common feature of this kind of flu') & attacked far more people with much more virulance than before, devastating populations beyond belief.
All this is well documented, & whilst the chances are this flu' won't do this, do you want to take that chance?
You have been given advice by a person trained to protect/save your life...............where did you get your medical degree from??? ![]()

Deb, are you normally given the seasonal flu vaccination each year ?
Have you ever had any dramatic side effects from that vaccination ?
