I really dislike rubbing butter into flour, the texture between my fingers makes me feel queasy.
I also hate gutting animals, being an ex-farm girl I have had to do this on numerous occasions, and what worried me the most was the smell of sheep intestines, especially if you accidentally tear them.
And I will never voluntarily prep an artichoke again. That was tough work and not worth it in my opinion.
Is there a something that you hate doing when cooking or preparing food...except the dishes of course! ![]()

I never use my hands to rub butter into flour. I use a pastry cutter/blender. The pastry comes out better that way anyway.
I hate gutting fish (who doesn't?), and removing the bones from cooked turkey. Turkey fat is just so sticky and greasy.

Chopping onions, especiall when I have to do loads of them! I do have to chop loads when cooking bolognese ragú or goulash, as the amount of onions is as much as the meat.
Itīs sooo bad when youīre not even half-through the onions and it burns in your eyes and they start to water.....
Iīm not using any kind of machine for this because it couldnīt chop them as precisely as you do by hand.....

maddimouse I have seen onion goggles at a kitchen shop near us...I wonder if cheaper swimming goggles would work as well? I wear contacts and am fine, but if I have my glasses on instead I am in tears!

I once thought of using diving goggles!
I wouldnīt buy any goggles just for chopping onions, Iīm trying to be brave and just get it over and done with.
Besides, this way I do get extra-cuddles from my OH, so itīs got itīs good sides, as well!

I would have thought you had suggested to simply pass that duty on....
Sounds interesting, I hope I understood exactly what you described (english is not my native language, after all!). I will try that - in case I wonīt have forgotten all about it! ![]()
