Wrong sizes given in recipes for flan & cake tins etc
Hi
The last two flans I have made from cookery books have both stated the wrong size flan tins, I wised up the second time and put it in the tin which I thought was right and it worked perfectly.
It was not a Jamie recipe i have to say but two other celeb chefs.
Anyone else having this problem?

This happens every so often and I think that it might be a case of some flan tins being deeper than others.
I have learned to use my judgment when selecting a flan tin for a recipe that I am going to cook.

I also think the problem arises because while the chef specifies the size of the tin, they don't tell us how deep they are, and there are different depths, usually a shallow and a deep. Wish they would give us the depth as well.
